This is really cool but personally I’d pull those bunks out and put a couple of light weight recliners or a little love seat of some type. Make it a nice little weekend couples rig.

Me too! With a table
With a family of 4 tired of tents, this is perfect. We only get out a few weekends each year. We eat outside anyways so no need for a table. Like a tent on wheels with a bath. Love it!!
As a single traveler I would love to have just a twin size bottom bunk, have a bigger fridge and a place to eat & relax where the queen bed is. And yes to more windows.

It'd be far cheaper to build one yourself. Not to mention you could use higher quality parts than they do if you're still willing to dish out the extra money saved by doing so.
I REALLY like that layout, and YESSSSSS ON ALL THE WINDOWS!!! The more the better, makes it feel much bigger and more open.
No table to eat on if the weather's not cooperating. I think a fold-up top bunk (think train berth) and a small dinette convertible to bed below would solve that issue.
Wow, that is a unique floor plan. Beats a pop up because it's a hard sided trailer, and you can still bring the kids... It's not something to spend all day in, just a place to sleep out of the weather and not have to go outside to use the bathroom.

I don’t find 20k reasonable
@NorthernSkiAndCycle
14 күн бұрын
@@RockyTop85 you’ll never pay 20k for this. I’ve seen them listed for 13k for 2025 models. 26ft bunkhouses always are listed at 40k, but you don’t actually pay that number. Camper msrp is worthless.
Ditch the bunk beds for a place to eat. Any drawers. Frame looks extremely weak no matter what they say about how it’s bolted together. You are right about the lack of windows. My Aframe has more storage, windows, freezer and much beefier frame. Many better alternatives out there.
This is great. One segment that I think has a potential for growth is the no frills, "glorified tent" market for larger families 4-6+ kids. There are a lot of great TT's and 5th wheels that have tons of amenities and sleep lots of people. However, most of the time you need a 3/4 ton or bigger truck to support the GCVWR. Unfortunately, there are no production trucks that comfortably seat more than 5 people. Consequently, you have all of that wonderful sleeping space but then need two vehicles if you were to actually utilize the space. I would love to see someone design a camper with 4 bunks, a queen bed (a Murphy bed would be fine) and a sleeper dinette that had a GVWR of under 4K. That way, you could use the large SUV that you need for the kids to also pull the trailer and still be under the GVWR of the SUV when you include all of the kids, stuff, and tongue weight. At 4K, you could also possibly use some full size vans with a tow package as well. Much of this could be alleviated if Ford brought back the EXCURSION! lol

A XL F150 crew cab will haul a lot of trailers and six people. The center armrest folds up for the sixth seat and is the standard setup of the base model F150. A mini van would tow this no problem.

Be cool, and a potential, if it was more like 10 to 12k.
The cost of these things is ridiculous.
I liked it alot but since no kids now. The bunk option should be like a two seat breakfast nook or whatever you call it for two. But could also be used as a desk. Or put in a comfy couch and a table you can mount so you could rig a TV plus work area and could sit and eat. Ijs
I think the idea of all the windows would definitely make this a contender as far as small trailers go:
I remember when a family owned RV dealership told me months ago Catalina asked them why they weren’t selling as many units as Sunset Park and such and he said they needed to build a 13’ in the $13-14k range because people are going light and affordable right now. Been waiting to see what they were going to come up with!
Imagine that front bed is removed, a small table and comfortable chair or dinette there. A single bed instead of bunks. This could be how you get homeless vets off the street. Anyone off the street. This is a perfect size for shelter. I love it. I could live in it.
@sonicimperium

Most people "on the street" are there because of drug and alcohol problems or mental issues. You really think giving them RV's is going to help?
Have the option to get rid of the bunks and add some sort of seating with a table. No need for more windows. It’s designed as a short trip camper or one to take to a kids ball game or a tailgate (use that bathroom instead of porta potties, cool down/warm up, get out of elements or lay kids down for a nap)
Wow this is a really cool little camper!! I never would’ve guessed that this had bunk beds! And a dry bath? Wow!! Very cute, thanks for showing it.😊
Family of 4. This is exactly what I was waiting for!!!!!
Yes! Absolutely needs more windows! & that’d look great too, with more air flow as well! So cute & surprising for the size! I like it! 😊
I would keep the upper bunk, for sure and maybe give it some multi-use practicality (i.e. extra storage or something), but the lower bunk, I'd extract and use a nook for a pop-up desk of the sort.
@ryancaldwell9463
Ай бұрын
Yea that was a head-scratcher for me. Seems weird to have a bunkhouse in such a small unit. And unless you wanna take on renovating it yourself, it’s a lot of bare open space that you can’t use for much else, except maybe throw your luggage and some storage bins/baskets there. I like your idea of just a top bunk and something else like a desk underneath.
@Powderblues
Ай бұрын
@@ryancaldwell9463 I mean, it's cool seeing these guys really max out their builds, but like you, I couldn't wrap my mind around the concept of the bunkhouse either. I think it would probably be even more practical to incorporate a Murphy bed (fold out from the wall), so to speak.

LOVE IT! I agree, more windows, a faucet attached to the shower to use like a sink if needed.
Very cool, love your window idea!
Wow - a great camper for small families. It has everything!
A Murphy option to make up for no seating would make this a killer set up. Get rid of the JBL system, put a detachable speaker and make the fridge a 8cu unit with a freezer. Leave the windows as they are and put a dark one on the door with a shade. Put the bed stand/flip up storage on the driver side of the camper. Put a larger door on the passenger side and offer a moryde sliding tray as an option to make up for the other door.
Really like this one. Wow. That bathroom is awesome considering the size.
This is a nice compact trailer. I love that it has bunk bed for something this size.

Hey JD, I hope you're having a great day! This Catalina134 bunk house unit is amazing! I think it would be cool to see the dual pane acrylic windows in it! I do wish the shower had the shower surround on the walls. I hope they do add afew more windows to it! But it being a bunk house unit without a slide-out is awesome.! Thank you JD for showing us this unit. Your fan Leonard.
Love the layout of it. Would be great for my wife and our grandkids. I think you're more in love with windows than I am...
Definitely agree with the suggestion of more windows.

Cool compact RV unit. If this RV is rocking, don't come a knocking.😉
This is amazing!! And I agree with the more windows, would make it less claustrophobic
I like the idea of a window by the top bunk, at the foot of the full size bed, and in the kitchen area.
I think this is my best one yet. As a solo traveler, I would keep the top bunk and below it would be a desk set up. Then I would remove the queen size bed and make that into a living room section.
That’s an awesome little camper
Nice little RV. Looks like it is configured more as a sleeping area. As such, I think it has too many windows. Maybe one window on each side is adequate. Thank you for sharing and have a great day.
More Windows are always better! Medicine cabinet where the bathroom mirror could be an option. Great trailer, JD! 🙌🏼

Whoa! Love this!
Definitely another window in bunk area. One more foot of length and a bigger bed would sell this for me. Awesome floor plan!

Definitely like it with more windows but great storage places for couples or friends that like to camp together
Love this and would prefer more windows. Love the bunks for my needs.
Yes to all yhe windows!
Would like a full fold up couch in front. Would be nice if they offered it without the bunks for more floor space with maybe a love seat option
Dig it. I too also remove the bunks and put a sofa there or a table. Would enjoy more windows. Yes. Love to test tow one of them sometime and give you our opinion. UGC for use of one.
Got a 96 couchman Cathalina sport as a class C. This would make a nice tow behind for it.
very well done
Definitely a sweet little camper.
It’s actually perfect for me especially for the price but I’ll agree with more windows would be nice bud for sure . Thanks for the preview.
Very nice I would buy one just for a nice camping trip but I also would love more windows so I agree absolutely with the more windows like one in the kitchen area would be nice for extra ventilation
Cool trailer!
A window next to each bunk is nice. Nice since I can tow it with my 4banger Frontier
This is the perfect state park camper where it would fit in the vehicle parking spot Put some solar upgrades on it 😮 starting to like it more
I like my Motorhome, but I think that I could live with this one!! Like other commenters, though, I would have preferred recliners or even open space in place of the bunks. That said, with big pillows, you can make a couch out of the bottom bunk and use the upper for storage.
Like the bunk beds and dry bath, great way to bring the Grandkids with. However, would rather have a van to be able to get out of a sticky situation without going outside. Sometimes a fast exit is the safest.
Really nice more windows by the bunks
I like flipping the window to the top bunk and adding one by the sink. Not sure about one over the full size due to road debris. Great camper all around.
No way id ever pay even close to that price. Sell that think for 7-8k then we can talk. 20k for particle board, sheet metal, plastic is laughable.
I love this. I am not an Rv'er. I primattive camp uaing tents, hammocks, and hot tents. Things of this nature. A small camper a few guys could use on state land for primative overland style camping. This would be a great camper for hunting. Small, good ground clearance, light weight, and multiple beds. This is something I would consider an option from my tents. Although a bit too pricey at 20,000. Maybe 10 to 12 thousand would make this very attractive.
Yes more windows. We are a family of 5 and that would still work for us I think. The bunks are great.
Awesome
Sooo nice
The New American Dream
Other than it being a stick and tin unit, the layout is comfortable.
Yes, the window above and a small window by the kitchen. Does the bed fold up into a table?
Totally would like to see additional windows. I like it!
Impressive.
Nice 👍🏼
Cozy lil’ thing! I personally love airflow and lots of windows. I’d add a few more windows.
Options to consider please: Futon like couch/full bed with a detachable table to be installed when in couch mode. Turn bottom bunk into bench seats with table that converts to bed. I like this lil thing😁
