Thank you for sharing this. You have helped me tremendously. Please keep sharing your skills. ❤️❤️
¡You are FANTASTIC! ❤❤❤. Greatings from Madrid-Spain
That halfway scrape.. Oh my, I feel like that just changed everything for me.. Even molds much larger, with different materials, I never thought to do that. I always had trouble with my material popping out and distorting if I tried to scrape the top. Thank you!

So glad I could help! It took me a while to figure that out too. lol
This is fantastic, thank you so much for the tutorial! Just starting my journey with precious metal clay and can’t wait to try this out. I’d love to make pendants out of these molds, so I’d need to add a little ring on top of them - is that possible to do after the clay dries and I take it out of the mold?

Very funny you say make and keep as I was doing the same thing earlier this week. Only I got frustrated with thin shallow leaves so I gave up for awhile. The scrapping some out on the swipe repeatedly. Thank you for the wet finger release tip. That may have been problem. Thanks for a really good video on this. The deep impression tips were also good.

Fantastic pro tips as always, Pam! I’m amazed that you’re able to get the greenware out of the very deep molds with undercuts without breaking any of the undercut edges.

For the deep ones what about making a thinner more watery clay to go into the molds easier? Would that work?
@PamEast
Жыл бұрын
No, it doesn't work well at all. I've tried it. The results come out crumbly. You want to use dense clay for this.
Hi! 😃 Thank you for generously sharing your knowledge with us! I'm a silk artist and I'm thinking about getting the pmc's to add some langiappe to my silks. I've watched your videos and I'm excited to learn about the clays.....especially making my own jewelry! I'm interested in making my own jewelry because I am not a fan of the normal "run-of-the-mill" jewelry. I just recently learned about the pmc's and your channel has sooooooo much info - Thank you for that! BTW, it would be EXTREMELY distressing if your fingers left your hands! I'm happy to say that in this video this did not happen😁 Confused??? Your comment: 8:27 - "....at no time will my fingers leave my hands..." 🙂 🙃 🙂

Hi Pam - love your informative videos! The box tutorial on Craftcast that you mention - is that the hinged box tutorial (which I own) or is there another class which explains this shadowbox type pendant? Thanks!

the hinged box tutorial has the shadowbox as a bonus. So you already have it! Just go look at the bonus content. :)
I’m so interested! I think I’m going with FireMountain gems psc3 silver I can get a kit and brick after a few more of your videos!❤️

Hey that is a pretty tricked out organizer behind you. Is that one of those fold out cabinets, or did you just build your shelving like that? Thanks for another great video!

That cabinet behind me is a DreamBox. I ADORE it! Here's a link: www.createroom.com/products/dreambox Also, if you reach out to Desiree Rienhard she can hook you up with a sweet discount. Just tell her I sent you. facebook.com/desiree.florio.35
I am a silversmith new to PMC. Thank you for the fantastic tutorial! Can any of these torch fired and then soldered to sterling pieces? Thanks so much!!!
@PamEast
Жыл бұрын
You can torch these if you have a very deft hand with a torch. But they are TINY and are just as likely to melt into a tiny ball. I kiln fired a bunch of them and sent them to a smith friend who soldered them onto sterling jewelry. So know that's possible.
love your tutorials... As a newbie you've helped my learning curve immensely... PS I cant find the tiny dragon fly mold anywhere? could you point me in their direction? Thanks Jodie

Fantastic video, thank you! Can I ask about the clay you have on your fingers - how do you get that off to save & re-use?
@PamEast
Жыл бұрын
I wipe my fingers off with a damp sponge. Once it gets saturated with silver I rinse it out in a cup. The silver settles to the bottom and I can pour off the water and recover the silver.

@PamEast dear Pam, can you show it, if it's not inconveniont? 🙈😅 I know it's a stupid question, but I need visualisation 🤦♀️ I can't picture how you can extract the silver from the water. I would lose a lot of silver. Is copper the same methode? Thanks in advance.
well of course things also happen to you!!! imagine that...

It's unfortunate these wonderful little molds have been less available post-pandemic. you can still find lots though, including roses, on Etsy. Just search etsy for "Tiny Flower Molds" and you will find dozens of them!
I was hoping to make a bunch of small components with this technique to use on tradition silver pieces. But I see in the comments that you can’t torch fire these. Is that correct?

Pam who makes the deep rose flower moulds ?

When I made this video the molds were everywhere and cheap. The molds have been increasingly difficult to find since the pandemic. I'm having the best luck on Etsy. Try search terms like "Tiny rose mold" and "3D nail Art Mold rose"
Hi. Which metal clay brand u r using??😊
@PamEast

I use Art Clay Silver pretty much exclusively
Ok so I made some of these teeny little things. Do you just kiln fire them with the larger pieces? I tried one with a torch and well, you know what happened.
@PamEast

Yes, I can imagine what happened! These tiny elements are intended to be attached to larger pieces BEFORE they are fired. Check out this CraftCast for more information: www.craftcast.com/recordings/learn-create-scenic-pendants-3-metal-clays
