    Kudos to your brilliant thoughts, Barr. Dele Farotimi. My bold and clear submissions are as follows: 1. Sowore and his likes MUST become a governor first and show us in practical terms that he can handle public trust. Otherwise, words are very cheap. Words are so cheap that brilliant 419s can use well-structured words to dupe people. After Sowore has become governor for 8 years and his bank account is not filled with billions as we all know he's not a billionaire yet and his State is transformed according to his thorough planning, then we can practically believe that he can be trusted with the presidency. He deserves the opportunity to be practically tried and tested. I remember when Oshiomole was a brilliant activist like Sowore, he used great and creative words to persuade us and we loved him just as we love Barr Dele. But after he became governor for 8 years, Oshiomole became a billionaire from being a civil servant by looting public funds and he joined the political vampires that are destroying us. He even had the effrontery to ask other looters like him to decamp to the verified criminal APC for shelter where their sins will be forgiven. So, what people say and what people do are two different things. It is better to do than to talk. Leadership is all about COMPETENCE AND COMPASSION. Eheh, I also remember Dino Milaye, Sowore's co-labourer in activism and very close associate. After he became a Senator, he's now a billionaire who has shown us his great mansions, fleets of most expensive cars that should be more than 30 of them, as his achievements. He has obviously looted public funds meant for the development of his people which is why he has been harrased severally by EFCC and police. So, he has a bad political testimony and has practically become one of the political vampires which is why he'd naturally support a political vampire like Atiku whom he hopes to join in the continuous looting of public money. No political vampire, like Ekweremadu and Co, would vote Peter Obi because they'd not see a kobo to steal. 2. Peter Obi is not the talking type but one who believes in action more than words. You will hear him say, "Why wasting precious time". When you unbiasly listen to Peter Obi, you will see a man who speaks with a pure heart, with energy, with passion and with compassion. It is written, "OUT OF THE ABUNDANCE OF THE HEART, THE MOUTH SPEAKS.". If he speaks 100%, he actually plans to do 10,000% owing to the superior capacity of the federal government to access great funds in billions of dollars. Peter Obi loves results more than words. He loves to see where the action is taking place. That's why he went to Egypt and over 30 more countries of the world to see things for himself and he made great contacts and connections. Peter Obi has the most expensive virtue called GOOD CHARACTER. Any NORMAL person can only trust him to deliver because of his uncompromising character and commitment to always do what is right. Doing what is right, is the reason Peter Obi shut doors against the political vampires around him who wanted to steal public money and that earned him impeachment which he later recovered through court. By his consistent good character alone, he qualifies to be trusted with any position of public trust in the world. No wonder, he was trusted by some multinational companies around the world to be their Executive Director and he also became the Chairman of three great banks before he resigned. His consistent good character in all his public life even before 1999 is the reason he has such solid boldness to even challenge all the political vampires in power who think he's like one of them to GO AND VERIFY. With all his obvious good claims that should greatly annoy the political vampires, especially now that he has no supposed godfather, even buhari's bulldogs, the mighty EFCC, who have all the investigative resources and connections, have not been able to find just one wrongdoing against Peter Obi till tomorrow. Something they are desperately seeking to find and will be very happy to find if at all they can because the man is very CLEAN. They should rather give him a historic award of excellence in public trust. And that is a greater reason to sincerely trust Peter Obi. It is the same GOOD CHARACTER of the simply amazing Peter Obi that made him to reject some juicy things due him as a governor which includes lands, money, etc. He shared all his Security Votes with all the schools and hospitals in his State. He also left over 75billion for the new administration. And before he left office, he removed his own name from receiving pension that is due governors which comes in hundreds of millions of Naira annually (over 400 million. Sokoto is 700million) with some incentives like brand new Jeeps, etc, since 2014 till date. That is a very GOOD, RARE AND UNCOMMON CHARACTER which qualifies him to be trusted! No politician in the history of Nigeria has done that! He's the ONLY ONE! He has practically shown outstanding, unequal, unmatched and very high superior COMPETENCE. There's obviously no room for comparison between the great Peter Obi and Sowore! It'd be a great sin for anyone to do so. Currently in Nigeria, Peter Obi is the ONLY CLEAN AND UPRIGHT Political Leader in the history of Nigeria who patiently and indefatigably BUILT for himself a GOOD POLITICAL TESTIMONY that has showcased his unequal, compassionate and overwhelming COMPETENCE which has naturally made him the ONLY GOOD CHOICE for Nigeria's PRESIDENT. Peter Obi is very compassionate, loving, disciplined, humble, accessible, straightforward, deeply dedicated, dependable, credible, creative, courageous, committed, cooperative, COMPETENT and more. He's the kind of person that people like Femi and Sowore should find solace in going closer to and learn from him and support him. He should be your good mentor! Genuinely submit to him! Share your brilliant ideas with him and join his team. All the genuinely good people and brilliant minds should rally around Peter Obi. That's the spirit of patriotism which even Prof Pat Utomi and some others in Labour Party exhibited. Look at his VP, for example, he's absolutely brilliant and humble! You need to hear his VP, Dr. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, speak. You'd just love the kind of good team that Peter Obi is building. Thank God for saving us from that old, primitive and illiterate vampire. 3. You mentioned EQUITY in one of your brilliant video chats. By EQUITY, therefore, if we still have any Fear of God left, no other tribe should come out to contest the presidency except those from the South East so that we can choose the best candidate among them, just like some highly respected and patriotic Yoruba elders publicly concurred with. However, the amazing Peter Obi is still the unequally good, better and best presidential candidate who has been TRULY TRIED, TESTED AND TRUSTED. His experience with public trust is so historic, uncommon, and unequal. It's something so expensive that no amount of money can buy. His achievements are truly inestimable! So, anyone making derogatory statements or remarks about Peter Obi is actually an AGENT OF DARKNESS. God bless the truly amazing incoming President Peter Obi...!

    Hmmmm, I took my time to read these, you're absolutely correct, Peter Obi already has a track record that we can always go back to, but on the other hand, Sowore only has a plan but haven't experienced power before, this thing is very simple, as they always say that we can only trust what we have tried, power changes a lot of people, but we can see here through past record that that same power didn't corrupt Peter Obi, and that's why he is one of the finest presidential candidate Nigeria have ever had, I just hope people like Barr Dele be an adviser to Peter Obi and we are sure that he will add benefits to Peter Obi ministration.... So once the elite or emir tells them no they go by it in droves. Remember Sanusi who wanted to refine his people with a new way of life in tune with modern and acceptable trend, he was disgracefully dethroned. @@johnmark8597 A very nice take @John Mark but I'd beg to disagree on how the people in the core northern part of Nigeria think, the North Central as an exception due to many other tribe present amongst them... Buhari visited a Eid prayer ground in the North today for the celebration of Sallah and I tell you that I was shocked seeing tons of people especially the poor masses waving, laughing, cheering and praising Buhari, some are even praying for him...It was there that I lose all hope in believing that there's something that can be done to change the mind of those lots...I couldn't hold back my tears and anger seeing a region where people are being killed, kidnapped, displaced still cheering up their oppressor. So what I'll say the pace at which Peter Obi is taking things is encouraging and obviously has ignited a glimpse of hope to the people... It is important to note here that a majority of the Nigerian electorate are not intellectuals like Dele Farotimi and a candidate must find a middle ground of engagement to appeal to the entire spectrum. Dealing with the constitution is not so difficult because there's an existing body of recommendations from a constitutional conference which any president can implement, and Obi's stated position on devolution of powers should leave no one in doubt about his willingness to implement that report if he becomes president

    You would have to appreciate Prof’s excellent points from the point of theoretical and logical purity, which hardly ever materialises in reality. Clearly, he approves of Showore’s written plan. That tells us his bias towards intellectual theoretical alignment to certain ideal. A look through history shows that in reality, those writs only provide a guide at best, and the most well written ones never achieved anything bcos the actors, who have the natural and experiential credentials, and are lucky enough to be accorded power by the people, use the bits of it that are applicable in their time to achieve greatness for their nations. I don’t know what Showore should do to command the credibility and mass believability currently accorded to Obi. Obi had the privilege of being governor for 8 years, maybe Showore should try the same, that would help him more than any other thing.

    You have oil in your head you said it well. Majority of the North are not educated and it will be wrong for open to tell them point black that he get to power today then he will restructure Nigeria tomorrow where you knows they so much depend on oil money and seaport money from South. You need their vote and won't go that way. Abiola was talking too much at his time and they made sure he never get to the seat. You can't tell the current leader that once you get there you will probe him and put him in jail for life and you expect him not do anything to make sure you won't get there. Even it happened in Gambia where the elected president was saying things he will do when he get to power then the current president said he won't step down and Nigeria plus AU has to intervene to reach agreement that he won't prove him before he agreed to step down. The North are almost completely opposite the South in their way of life, understanding and mentality.

    As long as I'm concerned, Obi has made his perspective crystal clear. Those who support him know where he stands. We don't need some propaganda papers FOR NOW. We have had them in the past and nothing good ever came out of them. All we need now is CHARACTER and PERSPECTIVE; he has demonstrated that to us. We are trying to change the status quo, not to model it. On the issue of restructuring, he also made that clear. He talked about states police to tackle insecurity. And so many other bits that are part of restructuring. For a country like Nigeria, you can't be that audacious in dealing with national issues. It has to be systematic.

    I think Prof counters his own argument when he accedes that restructure is an unpopular topic in the north. Obi-Datti would be shooting them selves in the foot by prioritising restructure now when they are seeking to gain power against incumbent and unbelievably formidable opponents. I’ve heard Obi talk about restructure, and I think it was wise to present his intentions on restructure strictly from the stand point of the benefits derivable to the different regions of Nigeria. This softly softly approach would, if they make it to Aso rock, help them buy the credibility and political credit through delivery of low hanging fruits, to then embark on such a gargantuan change. It would be certain failure to make it the priority now, it will come eventually.

    Well I'd say that from my understanding of what the professor is trying to as pertaining to the "restructure" being unpopular topic in the north. Is that the only way Peter obi and the OBIdience can gain grand is not just to talk about the problem Nigerians already know the problem. Think of a new Nigeria which is basically (restructuring) sell it to us if its something we can buy then leave it to us to decide....I for one am part of those rooting for Obi but he needs to do better than that. This media as we see it is just a fiction of the real world.

  • @nubosite

    @nubosite

    @@adelodunfatimah7333 Realistically, northern Nigeria is NOT going to consider restructure NOW, so why sell a product that is guaranteed to fail. Some parts of southern Nigeria want restructure, but without the north it’s not Nigeria. So, what can we do now to move forward? Focus on the things that both north and south would want, even if it’s not their preferred choice: 1. Economy, 2. Effective education geared towards economic productivity. 3. Turning around our existing institutions and ways of working towards greater productivity and accountability. The plan being, if Obi Datti can deliver to a significant degree on these, they would have earned the trust and political capital to sell restructure to the nation, especially the north, not as some utopian cure all, but strictly for its demonstrable benefits for the now and the future. Nobody who champions restructure now, would get it passed even at the local govt level in over 50% of Nigeria. The populace needs to be afforded time and education on the subject to appreciate its benefits and trade offs. We can’t continue like this until then. You see my point?

    I love and respect Dele Foratimi so much like I do Falana, but I must point out that some of his views expressed here are unrealistic. The northern electorate are not educated enough to reason at his level. They rely on the feudal class to direct them, hence prior to having the power in one's hand, one must be wary of upsetting the apple cart. Restructuring is a threat to the ruling class in the north, who are ideologically bankrupt to see or understand anything beyond a Nigeria with oil to fill their pockets, and their followership too uneducated to have a capacity for critical thinking and the ability to reason for themselves outside what the "ruining" class - apologies to Dele Foratimi - tells them to do. Hence, I think the path Obi is taking is right: keep your ideas that are a threat to the northern ruling class close to one's chest. Win the election. Use your power first to change the composition of the national assembly, then push for the change. It is like confronting an armed person unarmed. Until you have unarmed this person, you can't control what he does. And until you have unarmed him, you must approach carefully. The most important thing to me at this stage is to have persons with integrity, who we know will have the will to make the change happen. Obi has a track record that we can judge him by. Sowore has none, and therefore represents a greater risk to take a chance on. Also, the role that Sowore played in enthroning Buhari in 2015 raises doubt regarding his commitment to affecting a change in Nigeria. Sowore must therefore be disregarded at this point and for the foregoing reasons. Let Obi's record speak for him. He need not say more than he needs to say.

Obi of LP said Nigerians should take back their Country from the corrupt politicians. WHY: Tinubu said he made several people to be Governors, Senators and even the President. Therefore, his friends he helped with several political favors should pave way for him to be President. Atiku said he married Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo wives. Therefore he can use his experience as a good husband to unite a divided Nigeria. Obi said he cannot sleep because of the high rise of insecurity, poverty and disunity in the country. CLAIMS: Tinubu of APC claims he drew the master plan of Lagos and the Governors he made in Lagos followed his plans. He hopes to replicate this same method as President of Nigeria. Atiku of PDP claims during his time as VP, he headed the Economy and sold Government enterprises. He hopes to sell more Government enterprises if he becomes President. Obi of LP claims he developed the educational sector in Anambra when he was Governor. He said he stopped the rampant kidnappings, cut down cost of running Government and saved monies for the next administration. HOW: Tinubu got many APC Presidential aspirants to step down for him and believes his elite friends should support him because he had been generous to their aspirations in the past. He has been issuing quotes and paid many delegates to win the APC primaries. Atiku had great sponsors who paid delegates and got Tambuwal to step down for him at the last minute to make him the winner. He believes he has tried severally to be President hence this is his last chance. Obi was encouraged to join the race by many ordinary Nigerians. But he wasn't happy with the proposed payments to delegates. He left PDP to join the LP and since then, the LP has witnessed a rise in new membership. DISCUSSIONS: Tinubu doesn't make regular TV appearances. He sends media aides to talk for him where they spend airtime looking for how to fault Obi. His background is very controversial. Atiku lives in Dubai but hopes his aides are doing the job for him. He doesn't appear on TV or consults directly. His aides have not told the people what Atiku will do to save Nigeria other than focus on ways to counter Obi. Obi went to Egypt to learn more about their electricity sector. He appears regularly on TV to explain things himself. He has brought many comparisons on how to make Nigeria great again using examples from China, Dubai and even America. His famous word is "go and verify". Fellow Nigerians, let's put aside tribe, religion and region and talk about this post so we can vote wisely in 2023. Thanks for reading and please share on all platforms.

    From obvious utterances of Peter Obi every Nigeria asset must come to bear on the economy. For example he vowed to make the vast agricultural landmass of the north produce food and yield more income than oil. However, now that he has dealt with the bugging issue of a running mate expectedly the next will be an articulated manifesto. It’s important we know the things to hold any future government responsible for.

    Nigeria's situation is more critical than he understands. Illiteracy is our major problem. Solving Nigerian problem is one step at a time. We can't get it all at a time.

    Thank u. Its so easy to talk and analize things when ur sitting on the sidelines. U actually have to get in government to fully understand challenges of Governance. FORMER JAPANESE PM JUST GOT ASSASINATED TODAY WHILE CAMPAINING. . THIS TALKING HEADS WOULD BE ALL OUT IN FULL FORCE CURSING OUT BUHARI AND PUSHING CONSPIRACY THEORIES IF SUCH A HIGH PERSONALITY IS KILLED IN NIGERIA.
