Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy - Sammy Davis Jr. Song in Party At Circus

Party at circus. First scene that showing party at circus where all staff singing Sammy Davis jr tittle song The Second Best Secret Agent In The Whole Wide World. Took me three time to watch to understand the meaning of the scene and realise that Ann had an secret affair with Bill Haydon. Very good movie.

Saw this movie again today. Never fails to entertain. Everyone was great in here. Gary Oldman and Colin Firth - love them both

Densmorde - totally agree, but from what i’ve read online they’ve not ruled out the possibility of doing another in the future. Maybe something to hope for there!

@@emerald640 The miniseries had a different aesthetic. To me, Alec Guinness is the quintessential Smiley. Still, I love this film. Maybe because, unlike the miniseries, it was made many years after the novel took place, so the '70s kitsch is over the top. I love it.

That was meant to be Ann? Too young, too common. Ann was a Sawley, minor landed gentry and much nearer to Smiley's age.

@@AN-ii5li Exactly, John le Carre was dismayed at how admired the chaps at the Circus became because the whole point of his books was to show how banal and incompetent spies were. (Tbh, I do admire the chaps at the Circus for that very reason.)
