Thank you for the translation! I love this song, and especially in this interpretation, but I didn't know the meaning. Thank you.
....are Tinariwen the best band in the world at the moment? Every single thing I see completely blows me away..
Although I do not understand the words, their music makes me feel free to salute my Tuareg brothers - A Syrian Kurd passed through here❤️
Brothers I just love your sound, I just love the way your vocalist plays his guitar stringed upside down , I have tried this and can I hell do it, I have played guitar for years , pure skill , respect.
Listening from the Appalachian mountains, Virginia, USA. This song has really stuck with me, it's just wonderful. Keep rocking!!!!
About ten years since I saw these guys on jools holland, so bloody great
The only music I can put in my ears and focus 🤘
Tinariwen is a brilliant band where all members can sing !

Life taught me that It can often change. The one you find in solitude Is prisoner of egotistical desires. I have a friend I can trust Who quenches the thirst That burns in my heart. I walk in his footsteps Pursuing memories built On a dune that’s always moving. no sleepwalking, don’t keep me apart I’m through sleepwalking, god be in my heart no more sleepwalking, been asleep too long no more sleepwalking, keep me with you god

@@user-er6lj4jb3d thanks. Im sure I can manage but also not in a hurry at the moment. It was just hard reaching anyone at the embassy or consulate when I was interested in visiting before.. but I guess thats normal with a lot of embassies. lol. Anyway I know one Algerian who can maybe help me when I am ready to visit. Definitely somewhere I need to see in my life and good for you for visiting.

Cette musique me touche profondément. Mais je me demande : pourquoi un des musiciens se cache la bouche? Comment fait-il pour chanter?
Have they every done this with mark

Whatever. Because every Sahara nomad people are Arabs. You realise that the Sahara Desert is in Africa and not in Arabia? This is pure African music, they're Tuareg people, a sub-group of the Imazighen, indigenous to North Africa.
I’m pretty sure the guy playing left handed is only doing that temporarily...because if you Google the members he’s usually right handed!

How can the singer play guitar both left - and right handed?? Also, he doesn't even change the strings and neither does the bass player.

Sweet. The most amazing thing to me is that he doesn't change the strings. Every chord is different that way :p
@DerEchteBold
7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you have to learn it that way I guess, Eric Gales is one who did this and he is incredibly good! I occasionaly tried playing left handed and it's really awkward! Fretting with the right hand would need a bit of getting used but I think I could pull it of (with the strings not upside down I mean) but strumming and plucking with the left seems nearly impossible, don't know why. I can't remember it being that hard when I first started, I guess the 'minor' hand just isn't very suited for that kind of movement.
Oh wow. Lol i swear I misheard some urdu words in there but clearly its a different language. Can someone tell me what language it is exactly and more about them?
@DerEchteBold
7 жыл бұрын
Just look it up ; o) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tinariwen The language is probably called Tadghaq (or Kidal), the Mali dialect of the Tuareg language Tamasheq.

med medd Tuaregs, or Kel Tamasheq, live across South Algeria, AND Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Lybia, and Chad. They are nomads and don’t consider themselves affiliated to any of these nations. In fact, their last rebellion in Mali is as recent as 2012.
