I'm Argentinean. Here, our folk music has a series of rhythms inherited from Afro-Peruvian culture. The enslaved Africans between the 12th and 19th centuries brought with them rhythms and songs that were impregnated into the dominant Hispanic culture in the viceroyalty of Lima. The curious thing is that the rhythm of the second song in this video is EXACTLY THE SAME as some styles that in Peru are called "Festejo" and "Marinera". In fact, in Argentina we have several styles that inherit that rhythm, such as the "Zamba", the "Chacarera" and the "Chamamé". I firmly believe that one day African music and American music will intersect again.

This is the best band I've heard in a great long while - it's mystic blues - reminds me of the seventies in the states, freedom....they know what they're doing. That elusive band everyone looks for and can't find - the band that knows just who they are.....very cool.

I really like much this style of music, quality, something different, and the rithm is contagious!!! A good friend of mine is Amazigh, and he is from 🇲🇦 Morocco!! I am sorry that I do not know anything about the Amazigh culture or descendants,so I am continue asking my moroccan friend about it. Greetings from a mexican friend, and be safe. 🇲🇽 🙋🏾♂️
Reminiscing of the classic rock era. This is what the world needs right now. Thanks.

😍❤❤❤❤😍😎🎊🤟 I was so happy to see them in New Orleans here in the United States what a privilege. I also have gone to Africa twice now since then and I cannot say enough about the music and the culture. It is a joy to be there.

It's usually respectful if you say the country you've been to in Africa and not generalise. I hope they come to Louisiana again and I hope to see them.
Le désert sait parler à celui qui l'écoute...et vous Tinariwen vous avez décodé son mystérieux langage et vous en avez fait une douce mélodie que nous simple humain écoutant avec le coeur ❤ ...merci de nous transporter si loin

lovely comment! :D
Love this. The use of the steel string acoustic guitar is brilliant. It's like a blues/rock groove with that middle east mode over it. The acoustic guitar adds an folky feel to it. The song is all in one key.
With my Western ear, this is so refreshing & beautiful. These modal scales & rhythms are very catchy.
Thank y'all you rock

Gracias por transportarnos com vuestra música . Hipnótica espiritual y dulce. Gracias 😊❤
Si Si,Si ,vous changez le monde avec vos chants qui traversent l'univers, Merci mes frères, mes sœurs .
If you ever feel like its a little to dark, put on some Tinariwen, and let the desert sun in.

Profond respect à ce groupe qui a su promouvoir une musique à l'origine traditionnelle ( le Tindi et l'Imzad ) en une musique moderne qui exprime toujours les aléas de la vie quotidienne du peuple targui amazigh. Thanemirth

I have been listening to this a lot especially that I am in the Sahara Desert. Wonderful.
Before I thought targue people are moving around the desert and have nothing to do with music after I knew Tinariwin and Imarhan band I had discovered that I had nothing to do with music listening & meditation. Really amazing .they are the guitar king players. They make strings talk cry and laugh. Sudanese guy adicted to Targue music.
Les ROCKEURS DU DÉSERT.... ça c'est la musique à L' ÉTAT PUR.... SALUT A VOUS, TINARIWEN....
Espetacular! 👏👏👏
