Tina Turner Shame, shame, shame (Rare discoversion!) 1982

Музыка

Classic Tina Turner, an uptempo version of Shirley and company's slow version of Shame, shame, shame. The video I found on youtube, Tina Turner performing on a gameshow in the Netherlands, called Willem Ruis Lotto Show, a very popular show at the time.
The video on youtube was 3.45 minutes long and I managed to extend it to 4.26 through editing and reusing shots from the beginning. Enjoy! Air date for the Willem Ruis Lotto Show was March, 26th, 1982

Though her performances with Ike & the revue were electrifying I love watching her perform after her divorce from him. You can tell she was SO MUCH HAPPIER & joyful. She’s smiling from ear to ear in this performance! You can tell she was the boss lady & in control of her own career then! 💯we love you Tina!

@@arnaud2726 I agree. I was lucky enough to see her in concert three times - 1987 (The Break Every Rule tour) 1990 (The Foreign Affair tour) and 1993 (The tour to promote the film What's Love Got To Do With It - my best friend and I saw the film during the day and then the concert at night at Madison Square Garden, NYC). Throughout the 1980s and 1990s I saw a lot of live performance - rock, pop, jazz - and Tina's performances are the absolute most thrilling I can recall. Just the way she could navigate from left to right and back during high powered numbers was astonishing. She is - a singular sensation.

According to some in the music industry in the early '80s: They knew she was talented and that she had IT...they just didn't know how/who to market it to. Yet, ironically, the fact that she was in her early 40s was precisely what made her very appealing to kids, teens, young adults, middle-aged folks, and older people alike. Go figure.

@@scottmyles4377 Yes, I saw that part. John Carter is a guardian angel, for Tina. I can't believe that, in 1981/1982, Capitol execs had the gall to say something like that. It was John Carter who kept Tina in the various studios, in 1982, recording an album's worth of songs, so she could be busy; resulting in the great songs/singles from the Summer Lovers soundtrack (I actually believe that "Crazy In The Night" should have been included on Private Dancer, along w/ a handful of most of the songs Carter recorded with her, that ultimately became great B-Sides to her hit singles...honestly, Private Dancer should have been a double LP, considering the quality and variety of material she'd amassed by Spring 1984), leading to her work with Heaven 17, and "Ball of Confusion" (also on my version of P.D.) and, not long after, "Let's Stay Together", which broke the dam, leading to a blockbuster album, in Summer '84. Carter's production on the final song, "Private Dancer", is timeless.

Now, how come I never saw this clip until now?! Better yet, how have I not heard this on the freakin' radio since 1980?! Was this from her 1979 Love Explosion LP? I love that the Private Dancer look was already present here 3 to 4 years earlier...I believe that's Tina's own regular hair w/out the (now eternally famous) spiky hair/headpiece she added a couple of years later...this is the same head of hair she had when she filmed Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, accentuated by the long flowing extension below her shoulders. Great vocal...her second reign was already about to be eminent...pre-production/recording for PD started really in 1982, after the Summer Lovers soundtrack of that year.

She really does as she sings mono-tone...the reason all her songs have the chords cut short and are performed with staccatto rythms is to make them void of anything to harmonize/ compare the singing to...this woman was handed a career, as a cover artist none the less...atleast those girls you mentined can actually do the stuff...she doesnt even learn a single dance routine...then sings monotone...monotone covers...think before you speak...calling you strike me as the type to buy banksy artwork, unaware that it is plagiarism of a french artist from the 70's. Dont tell people things about buildings are built just to sound smart...their are buildings everywhere and therefore architects, engineers, surveyors...you name it...and here you are telling young performers watching that currently offer nothing that she is the talent on a stage full of real talented individuals...thus is why nobkdy can acheive simple things such as musical proficiency...they are mislead by people like yourself that just want to sound like you know something. Its just petty. And fool on you for being completely unequivocaly 100% wrong in your analaysis.

@@dannyviveros1993 How? The cameras spent more time filming the dancers than on Tina. She is a top first class singer and performer and doesn't need to share the stage with a gazillion dancers. The camera operators thought the dancers were more important. All she needed were three "Ikettes". The Ikettes have always complemented her.
