I have the same disease 😉. That candy tin should make an interesting build. I made a ukulele out of a smaller one. Thanks for the videos.

When I saw a "kit" turn up in a box I thought hmmm.. When I saw a brand new can come out of the box... oh no.. But when I saw you making your own version.. I went back to "Yes, that's how you do it!" I don't like all these kit-versions, ready-made parts and commercial products "specially made for CBG builders" because that goes way beyond the point of "home-made" and the traditional reasons for building a CBG or home-made microphone. Great video!! (I'm just in the process of doing the same with an old bicycle headlight)

BTW if you don’t care to solder and round up the parts, here’s an option: mgbguitars.com/products/guitar-parts-electronics-pickups-piezo-vj

I bought a pack of 12 piezo elements, so I can make some of these. I'm also thinking about making an electric cookie tin banjo, using one of these piezo elements. Maybe even make a Lars Ulrich, Saint Anger drum kit from cookie tins, popcorn tins, garbage cans, and piezo elements.

Your home made model sounded better than the one that came in the mail.

Hello, great video you have. I would just like to ask at 10:33, you are holding what you said was an amplifier. Is it a potentiometer? if it is, what is its resistance value?. Also, where is the jack connected to? Thank you and have a great day!
