Superchargers and Turbos do the same thing really, force more air into the engine. One is just belt driven and the other (turbos) are turbine driven by the exhaust. In basic terms. More air + more fuel = more power.
@oliverdaniels8492

Kind of they are both forced induction however the power delivery is deferent, the supercharger being belt driven is more linear and creates more boost at low rpm whereas a turbo charger is powered by exhaust gasses and doesn’t create boost until higher rpm’s but delivering more power

What I will say is Tim can definitely stream casually when he’s done gaming, he’s enjoyable to watch with and to watch.
I wonder how mind blown Tim will be when he finds out its twin turbo'd and still supercharged... Not that he knows the inner workings of either, but if he did...
Twin turbos work by using two turbochargers to compress air before it enters the engine. This increases the amount of air available for combustion, allowing more fuel to be burned and producing more power. The turbos are often arranged in a sequential or parallel configuration, optimizing performance across different engine speeds.

I picture two turbos jousting.
A lot of people talking about the difference between turbo and supercharger, no one talking about the magic that happens when you have both, this car has both.
Both superchargers and turbos push pressurized air into the engine, which is more combust able. Supercharges run off the belts, meaning instant torque down low; while turbos use exhaust gas, making more power, but it has to build the pressure first. Having both means you have the instant torque down low and the better hp gain up top.
Are the turbos fighting? A duel turbo sounds sick. Dual turbos are already awesome.

I scrolled wayyy to far for this comment
Basically they force more air into the intake. Giving the car better performance. They're like turbines for cars. It widens the power band and improves low-end torque due to the lower boost threshold.
The fact that Tim can't comprehend someone being able to put parts on a car is killing me 😂😂😂
Hey Tim. Boosting a car can be done in multiple ways. The most popular are either supercharger or turbochargers. Superchargers, which are on a lot of muscle cars, use the engines power to spin a pully, which then in turn spins the supercharger to push more air into the engine. These systems make a lot of immediate torque and don't restrict the exhaust flow at all, which is why the GT500 and the Hellcats sound so raspy, whereas turbo'd cars are a little more muffled. Turbochargers use the engines exhaust gases to spin a turbine in each turbo to push more air into the engine. Turbo's don't use engine power to sping anything, since the exhaust gases are going through the exhaust anyway, so they are usually better for making more power. However, turbo's have to spin up, so they don't have as much instant torque as superchargers. Both have benefits and drawbacks. Westen took both of these systems, and combines them, which is called twin charging. It's insane to do, and extremely excessive, but that's what westen does lol

mostky true, but theyre both pretty equally parasitic. donmt forget, if youre pushing 20 lbs of boost, that pressure is still pushing against the comrpessor, which is tied to the exhaust turbine, which the gasses have to push against, which the pustons have to push against. turbos arent free energy. thats alot of force on the engines exhaust stroke to keep thatr boost up
Superchargers and Turbo chargers both supply the engine with more air. It is called forced induction. While superchargers are good for low end RPM and off the starting line torque they run a bit worse at high end RPM and torque. While having a Turbo charger can supply low and high end boost over a wider range of RPM. Basically all they do is shove more air into the combustion chamber. Making more power and burning more fuel.
@austinmiller8695
7 ай бұрын
In addition turbos are more fuel efficient than superchargers because that don’t have a parasitic effect on the engine meaning it takes horsepower to run the supercharger all the time
Turbos use the exhaust gases to turn a turbine that compresses the air going into the intake of the engine, forcing more air into the mix, making more power. Air + Fuel + Ignition = Power. We use the exhaust to force more air into the engine to make more power... Superchargers do the same thing but use a belt driven from the crankshaft to turn the turbine instead of the exhaust gases.

A turbo takes the exhaust air and compresses it and sends it back into the engine. This gives way more airflow and thus more faster

This is completely incorrect. A turbo uses the exhaust to spin a compressor wheel on the hot side, which in turn spins the cold side compressor wheel. The cold side intakes fresh air, and forces said fresh air into the intake atop the motor. The exhaust after being used to spin the compressor wheel, exits the exhaust off the hot side of the turbo. It doesnt re-enter the motor at all Commonly, the air passes through an intercooler prior to going into the motor to cool the air.
@ThanksHero

@@ryanhickman1426it’s a turbine on the exhaust side.
Both superchargers and turbos are used for forced induction. Main difference is the turbos perform better in higher rpm’s and the supercharger is better for lower rpms. Both just add more air so you can add more fuel for more power
Turbos and supers do the same thing just different noises lmaooo
We should have Tim react to how an engine and forced induction work.
It’s about time he did the hellion hell cat! Now we need Tim to do the smoke stang! 😂
A turbo essentially does the same thing a supercharger does, just with a different process. It compresses the air being sucked in so you essentially "fit" more air in the cylinder during each stroke of the pistons. Hope this explanation helped, also if im wrong correct me
@ZEDTHEAUSSIE

You forgot to add the part about a supercharger working all through the rev range, whereas turbos need to spool. Also the fact that a supercharger is mechanical so it is spun by the engine, essentially draws power from the engine to turn it, whereas turbos run straight off of exhaust gases from the engine, so no power loss. ;-)
@bomboclaatgaming7100

@@ZEDTHEAUSSIE indeed I did forget
Tim never fails to mention he has 2 hellcats
so basically twin turbos push the air from the intake to the turbos to the engine producing more power and torque increasing speed and increasing the pounds of torque they have
Exhaust spins fan in turbo which is connected to another fan that starts to suck in fresh air to put into the air fuel mixture that makes the boom booms
The dodge demon 170 has 1025 HP and with the drag tires that I think come with it at least the first demon did but the demon 170 is most likely faster than that charger considering it does an 8.1 in the quarter mile and it ways less. That demon will be a monster 😈
Oh nice they made it bi charged Make sure to keep it cool that air going in is gonna be HHHOOOTTTT
Well, Timmy the exhaust leaves the engine through the manifold. Then flows into the turbo turbine and as the turbine spins on the exhaust side, another wheel spins on the intake side forcing air into the engine for more power. So higher rpm=higher turbo speed, higher turbo speed=more air volume, air volume=more powah baby😎
Turbos force exhaust through the engine faster, thus allowing more air to come in the intake faster. Basically a vacuum.
Turbos force a lotttt of air into the engine. Same as supercharger, except turbos are exhaust driven, supercharger is belt driven
These turbos & superchargers in THESE cars are just TOOOO MUCH!!! 😂. I mean I want one is what I’m trying to say. 😢
it takes in the cold air an pushes if three the engine to keep it cool and give it more HP
“Duel” in the thumbnail lmao
Both turbos and super chargers are forced induction. Basically pushing more air into the intake which lets the engine to rev higher faster. Air fuel and spark create a running engine. If you have more air you can push more fuel. Superchargers are belt driven so they are always making some amount of boost which lets them deliver more boost at low rpm’s because as soon as you hit the gas pedal the belt spins faster which spins the supercharger. Turbos work solely on air being pushed through them from exhaust gases so they take a second once you accelerate to “spool up”. Making more boost at higher rpm’s. This is called twin charging and can make a fuck ton of hp when done right.
I can't believe the dis-information I am seeing, TIM!! PLEASE READ!! So Single turbo vs twins, to make the same-ish horsepower with a single turbo setup essentially the single turbo would have to be almost double the size, essentially bigger turbo = more turbo lag (time it takes for turbos to spin). Many other factors to take in, exhaust housing sizes etc. So twins of a similar power rating to a single turbo should essentially have about the same power output but without having to wait as long for the twins to spool up. In saying that, a big single turbo is generally also capable of generating more air flow which = more power. Really it depends on the application. And just an FYI, Weston keeps the regular supercharger from the hellcat and pushes the twin turbos through it. Technically making this a twin turbo supercharged hellcat ;-)
added whiskers lol
I dont see any comments actually explaining the science, so, a turbo has a turbine in the center and as the exhaust goes by the turbine it spins faster and faster causing the intake side of the turbine to compress the air. When the air is compressed it gets hot, thats what the inter cooler is for. As the air cools down it compacts more and you force more air into the cylinder. If you had a 5.7 v8 naturally aspirated engine each cylinder holds an eighth of the total 5.7. When you force more air into the cylinder the computer will dump more gas as well. You then get a stronger and more complete burn, it pushes the power stroke of the cylinder down faster, which in turn spins the crank faster giving you more horse power. A supercharger gives you the same outcome but instead of exhaust gas powering the turbo the belt spins two augers in the supercharger, compressing the air.
Turbos use the air from the intake to force exost out which means the engine can have better flow.
@TheVibeSheriff

Uses the exhaust to force air in actually but you had the right idea
The more air you can get into an engine(as long as you have the fuel system to supply enough fuel) the more power you will make.
more air to the engine meaning its cooling and making more horsepower, a blow off valve will release any pressure from the turbos and blow em out so they wont damage anything, and well a supercharger is just a crazy version of the twin turbo just not as much hp but can be more fine tuned
Simple breakdown. The engine only needs 3 things. Air, Fuel and Spark (eh well, and timing lol). It's just an air pump with a controlled explosion. If you increase one thing of those 3 you have to increase the other 2 within reason. Before that controlled explosion becomes an uncontrolled explosion.

Controlled boom turns into "Oh sh1t"
Basically Tim turbos suck in more air, when an engine gets more air the more fuel it can consume which means mo powa mo fasta
The engine is a giant air pump, the more air you can flow the more power you can potentially make in lamens terms
Scientifically the difference between a supercharger and a turbo is this Supercharger: Pulley system that blows a lot of air into the engine therefore causing more power to be sent to the engine, creating more horsepower, quicker times to get up to speed, its a common way to make your car faster and it is what is on the SRT dodge lineup. Turbocharger: Uses exhaust gas to spin a turbine which is why its called a "Turbo" and it forces more air into the engine giving the engine more power, Turbos are also supposed to help you build RPM's a lot faster so you are able to get off the line quicker or get up to speed significantly faster Between the two there is not much of a difference they both pretty much do the same thing if you really think about it, it's mainly about what you like more out of the two. But Westen put both of them on that Hellcat and that thing became a beast, thankfully it has fully forged internals pretty much otherwise that engine would blow up with all that boost and power 😂
turbos increase the air pressure in the engine. more air means more fuel. twin turbos are powered by the exhaust of the motor. the higher the rpm the more pressure created by the turbo. the only real difference between the super charger and a turbo charger is that the super charger is immediate power from a belt while the turbo lags because of needing exhaust pressure.
A turbo is basically a speedboost that takes the air and converts into energy
They suck in air with the turbine in the front that is driven by the exhaust gases. The air that is sucked in is then pushed through the motor for more power.
Damn a duel turbo that’s crazy
TURBO HAS 2 TURBINES one is spun by exhaust, witch in turn spins the second turbine, the second one sucks fresh air to force into the engine
Love these reaction vids. Also, dual
To make it simple for you Tim, think of it this way. A motor is just a big ass air pump . SUCK, SQUEEZE, BANG, BLOW. Turbos and chargers just force more air in and you add more fuel with that air and you feel like a big kid giggling. P.S. you live in Florida, you need to make friends with CLEETUS MCFARLAND, those guys will probably be more than happy to show you some things......HELL YEAH BROTHER!!!
Tim, think of a twin turbo kit as a fat guy with an entire tank and a gallon of ice cream. The same as a normal serving just wayyyy better
cars are like legos. best way i can put it without confusing people
I think the 1200hp twin turbo RAM TRX is next for twin turbos react
A supercharger gives you more low and speed and acceleration. A turbo charger gives you more high speed and acceleration. They both do it through forcing more air into the engine
The more and air and fuel you shove down its throat the more sketchy and fast it gets 😂
makes it go faster faster
You can add more air and fuel now lol
Forced induction. More air, more available for combustion, more fuel burned, more powa. Youll get it Timmy.
Dumbed down version forces more air in engine, engine mix air n fire go boom, boom make car go super fast🥲 and it’s beautiful
Basic formula tim: More air + More fuel= More power
Turbo recycled air from the exhaust manifold, cool it down and makes more power! Super charger does the same but with ambient air from the engine bay.
turbo = air.... more air = more fuel.... more fuel = mo power.... mo power = *smiley face*

Hey Tim, you gotta react to his helljet he built out of a police dodge charger frame.
force more air into the combustion chamber pretty much. more compressed air=more bang=more powa baby
tim we need a whistlindiesel reaction
I’m just hear to read people responding to Tim about the difference between a super charger and turbo to have someone inevitably say “ACTUALLY no it does this……” 😂😂😂
Turbos and superchargers both force more air into the engine. Then engine go vroom even more and faster
Tim you gotta react to Westen's "HellJet" thing is mean!
U should react to the one when he turn the hellcat into a hellcat jet
What a twin turbo does is 1 distributes heat better so it doesn’t get as hot. (The hotter it gets the less dense air it gets which is no good) 2 it allows each turbo to focus on each side of the engine, so 1 turbo is for one side and 1 turbo is the other side
@biswack0

the reason you want a twin turbo setup would be to minimize boost lag, intake temps are irrelavent with air-air and air-water intercoolers as well as meth injection. It has absolutely nothing to do with focusing on each side of the engine. The overwealming majority of cars including high hp twin turbos have single throttle body intake manifolds which means there is equal displacement of pressure on every single cylinder, usually meaning there is a merger between both turbos into the Manifold.
bro casually said "my stock demon'"😳
It's considered a force induction meaning pushes cold air into engine cold air = more power
“Duel Turbo” 😂 You mean? DUAL!?!? Nope.. still wrong, TWIN turbo is what you were looking for
Suprt chager and turbos suck in air into the engine to boost it alil bit
Turbos and superchargers force air in the engine just that turbos are using the air in the exhaust to spin the turbos making it kind of a loop and superchargers spin with the engine the crank so it’s also like a loop the bot the engine revs up the more air the more power
Basically Turbos force more air into the engine, and with more air you can add more fuel which equals more Power.
A supercharger is belt driven forced induction and turbos are air driven turbines forced induction
Love your videos, bro
Turbos are like blowing air into a fire. Gives more oxygen to the engine which creates more combustion
Forced induction Timmy. A gasoline engine is essentially an air pump . The car will decide how much fuel it is going to use based on the ammount of air flow it has . And this particular case the turbos are accelerating the air leaving the engine therefore allowing the super charger to force more air into the engine allowing more fuel to be used i.e. More power made
Turbos and superchargers are good and all but they really really wear down your engine a lot faster .
Love u Timmy
A turbo uses exhaust air turns it back into cool air for the engine more air flow more power
Wait until he finds out about ol cleeter
When something is twin charged both turbos and superchargers are present and it makes the turbo besacly inta plus supercharger boost usually not many engines can’t handle this abuse though
Simply more air more power
“Duel” lol Tim… it’s dual
air and exhaust go into the turbo, witchcraft happens and then you go faster
Duel huh? lmao
Forcing more air in to the motor
Twin turbo pretty much forces more air into the combustion chambers creating more power make car go zoom
Duel turbos. Is that how Stewie would say it lmao
The more turbos = more power
More top end too
Superchargers and turbos are really just the same except, superchargers instantly build boost, lacks Top End speed. Turbo needs air in order to spool up, turbos are for races that are a straight shot. Superchargers are made to accelerate quicker.
Don’t drive that in any standing water 😂
Imagine someone calling them “dual turbo’s” and meaning it.
Dueling turbos? That just seems like the long way to stock
Bro said "Duel Turbo" in the thumb nail. Can't do math and cant spell. hahahaha
Turbochargers just spin at high rpm’s to generate compressed air
Mo air mean mo fuel means mo power baby
