A very skilled musician indeed... extremely precise
Fantastic! I especially enjoyed the Tchaikovsky excerpt.
That Bartok excerpt is so great!
Ni un comentario en Español? Enhorabuena. Desde Valencia. Un percusionista bien sabe que es lo que hace usted.

8:41 that's a cool shadow
Magnificent! Inspirational! So expressive.
Along with horns and double-basses, timpani are that kind of instrument no "casual" listener or "aficionado" cares about, but actually form the very harmonic foundation of the Orchestra.
Incredible tone!
I like the way he lifts his mallets after striking his drums which enables the tone to become more resonate

Are these timpanies made by Adams Musical Instruments / Netherlands ??
Sounds excellent! Can you explain why you tape the bottom of your timpani mallets?

Ben Reineke a lot of percussionists I know will tape the bottom of their mallets with colored tape so they don’t get mixed with other people’s mallets. Although it could also be to help with grip or something else.

These are grips common on German-type timpani mallets. They act as a stopper so you can grip very loosely without the mallets flying out of your hands and also add some weight to the back of the stick to counter the heavier head.
What was the Rosenkavalier mallet?

Bestes Stück für Pauke ist "Burleske" von Richard Strauss.
@8:12 Te la pasás franeleando los parches, eso es acoso!
Interesting, looks like he uses American grip as opposed the typical French grip.
Tchaikovsky and Beethoven superb. Bartok, Brahms and Stravinsky... second class...
@Balfour.
