The Mug/Muggy definition is slightly incorrect - Mug = A person who is stupid and easily deceived by other people. Muggy = unpleasantly warm and humid weather.

He couldn't get it because the presenter is pronouncing 'arsed' with a non-rhotic UK dialect. Key is hearing it as /ahssed/, which is not how Americans say 'assed'. But he has heard people with non-rhotic UK dialects say 'asked' that sounds like /ahssed/ to him so he thinks the presenter means 'asked', not 'arsed' or 'assed'..

"Wasteman" comes from West Indian slang but it wouldn't be the first time the British stole something from the West Indies...🥲

as a Brit of 47 years, i've never heard 'Wasteman', all refrences of it i find are from the last few years, this is not British slang, this is Millenial slang.

@@spiderjeranimo4992 as a 66 year old Brit living in Vancouver since 1983 - I didn't get 4 of these. "Muggy" (day) was usally about the weather being humid and hot with a lot of discomfort. As for a "Mug" - someone who was dumb and easily taken advantage of.

Infering we British stole people from the West Indies? Not how it worked if so. The West Indians brought a lot of their culture here though.

Tristan educating Keegan on the term "waste man" ... 👀 ..... ok. Leave somethings alone. Don't try and snatch up everything and claim it, especially when you have no knowledge. Keegan was more acurate than the presenter. Bye Tristan.

@@dcmastermindfirst9418 The first part would certainly be an indication of racist thinking. But it's good that you're self-aware enough to recognize it. I think most of us carry around a lot of assumptions that we don't normally examine. Being willing to question yourself is a good trait. The American assumption is a stereotype, but it's more understandable since the Americans export so much of their stupidity.
