Timothée Chalamet Credits Zendaya For Inspiring His Bold ‘Wonka’ Fashion

Timothée Chalamet and Hugh Grant are celebrating the sweet world of Willy Wonka. Access Hollywood sat down with the pair as they promoted their latest film, "Wonka" and they opened up about what inspired them to take their roles. "I think it's heartfelt. It's meant sincerely and I think that's rare in this day and age and it’s a movie about never giving up on your dreams. It's not meant with an ounce of cynicism, and I think people are inclined to roll their eyes when they feel like Hollywood's trying to sell them on that dream and that story but this is really meant. It's felt," Timothée said. The 28-year-old also reflected on his bold style and joked that he gets his inspo from Hugh, before admitting that he admires Zendaya for her on point looks. "I feel like Zendaya's a great example, now in this day and age you can sort of lean into what the vibe of a movie is in the promotional stuff you do, so this movie is cheerful, and fun, colorful," he explained. The pair also reflected on the 20th anniversary of Hugh's hit holiday film, "Love Actually." "It's the best Christmas movie of all time," Timothée proclaimed. “Wonka” is set to open in theaters and in IMAX internationally beginning December 6 2023 and in North America on December 15, 2023.

I like how they made the connection between Hugh and Timothee both having worked with James Ivory, I was wondering if they would ever mention that they had both worked with him. Hugh's always making people laugh, I don't know why he gets called out for being grumpy, I just don't see it and you can see neither do the other celebrities who work with him. I will say though, this interviewer needs to do her research because at the end she said about Hugh's mother "we'd love to meet her" sadly his mother passed away in 2001 due to pancreatic cancer, I think Hugh was too nice to say anything, but if you're going to interview people you need to make sure you've done your homework otherwise saying comments like this could get you into trouble. She's very lucky both Hugh and Timothee are very easy going.

Hugh could be a real jerk when he was younger. Even the costars that are friends with him have said he was quite difficult on set. He’s mellowed out though. And his sense of humor has always been the best in Hollywood.

Great interview! The journalist did wonderful. I do want to say something abt her outfit…I love the idea of the flower but it was entirely too big and clashed with the shirt. I haaaad to comment, bc it was too distracting and she’s very pretty and I can tell she has taste! It could’ve been done better.
