🇷🇴 Timisoara: The Little Vienna of Eastern Europe in 4K
Welcome to Timisoara. The charm of this city, settled on the northern bank of the Bega River, lies in its distinct architectural character and vibrant cultural life. What I really liked about the city is that the city center is full of large squares united by narrow streets that blend in the different layers of architecture. The city of Timisoara is probably the nicest city of Banat region, alongside Oradea.

One day in the beautiful city of Timisoara is probably not enough to experience all that it offers, but two or three days should be enough. A stroll for a few hours should easily cover the main city center, from the Bega River by foot or ferry to the central park, Victory Square and Unirii Square.

Nicknamed the city of flowers or little Vienna, Timisoara should absolutely be added to your itinerary whether you are exploring Hungary or Romania. Although short on attractions, you will find yourself losing track of time. The elegant public spaces and enchanting boulevards will captivate you before you know it.
If you plan on visiting Timisoara, make sure you stop at the info point situated in the area of the Maria Theresa bastion.

Nice Romania.
marine west-coast climate? that's debatable... i live on the west coast of North America and i can say without a doubt having visited timisoara many times that it does not have a marine west-coast climate (not to be confused with the Mediterranean climate of SoCal). it's definitely more temperate-continental. The marine west-coast climate is characterized as windy with extremely dry, forest fire inducing summers, and rainy winters. There is no snow to speak of all year save for maybe a week.

1:08 You omitted the native Romanians, like they didn't leave a mark on the city as well. You mention Serbians but not Romanians? Like Ioan Slavici: writer and journalist; he attended the German-language high school in Timișoara. Camil Petrescu; playwright, novelist, philosopher and poet; he taught at the Higher School of Commerce in Timișoara. Cornel Trăilescu Article Talk opera composer and conductor. Peter Stoica (poet and translator), Ana Blandiana (poet), Dorin Tudoran (poet, essayist, journalist and dissident), Ioan Mihai Cochinescu (novelist, film script author and director, art photographer, teacher, musicologist and composer). George Șerban (journalist, writer and politician), Bogdan Achimescu (visual artist). Silviu Stănculescu ( actor, also played Vlad Țepeș). Andrei Ujică (screenwriter and film director). Florin Călinescu (actor, theatre director, TV host and politician). Nicu Covaci: soloist and guitarist of the band Phoenix. Eugen Gondi: jazz drummer. Mircea Baniviu: vocalist and guitarist of the band Pasărea Colibri. Bujor Joini : composer, conductor and teacher. Adrian Bărar: vocalist and guitarist of the band Cargo. Vincențiu Babeș: lawyer, teacher, publicist and politician. George Călinescu : literary critic and historian, writer, publicist and academician. He taught at the C.D. Loga High School in Timișoara. Viorel Cosma: musicologist, lexicographer, music critic and teacher.

@FramingReality
I got it. You are right, Romania is located in central-eastern europe. However, my title of The Little Vienna of Estern Europe is more a header about a city, probably the only one who's very similar to Vienna. And it's located in Central-Eastern Europe. Also, if you look at tine zones, Vienna is +1 CET (Central Europe Time) and the entire Romania is under +2 EET (Eastern European Time).

Catena in tot orasul si niste oameni care nu inteleg cum fac comert, bani. In orice cartier din 2 in 2 magazine ceva e inchis, in renovare sau spre inchiriere. Aici nimic. Doar preturi exagerate, mosnegaraie pe strazi, turisti vax si pretentii multe. Si toate acestea in Timisoara, capitala culturala europeana, in vacanta mobila a 29 de judete. A big bullshit!!!!!
Aradului i se spunea mica Viena.

Such a liar video. Timisoara was part of Hungary until 1918. You mention even the Turkish influence, which was until the 17th hundreds and you "forget" that Timisoara was Temesvár a Hungarian city? You mentioned a lot of not relevant infos, but never mentioned Hungary and Hungarians contributing to the culture of the city. Shameful. You were a very good student of Ceausescu's history lessons. Bravo.

Hey, Bela! Thank you for stopping by and expressing your thoughts! Every video I make has some kind of research behind it, so I don't necessarily plan to avoid mentioning important things. This time around, I decided to mention the present and the very past, and I'm sorry that you feel offended. Undoubtedly, Austro-Hungarians played an important part of making Transylvania what it is today. But I think, at least for me, it's much more important to look at places and cities with curiosity for what the future's going to bring us and not with who's fault was. The history of a place should be an activity for leisure and relaxation and not a source of frustration.

@@FramingReality no worries, and thank you for your answer. I see your point, however I think it would be great if in the future in case that you mention a few cultural/historical data (e.g. mentioning what cultures contributed to the city) you should pay attention to include all cultures.
