if it are B6 tdi 155km 2018 the belt over 6 years and car now 200km skuld I change the belt? the belt does not crack in itself but looks worn teeth look ok. is belt on BMR better no? its VW passat 06. how know exatly how bad belt is? how can belt jump of f on passat B6? many says will destoy the car;/ easy to do itself change like the video?

Hi. The manual says that you need to Replace timing belt every 120 000 km or 5 years whichever comes first. So I think you can drive atleast 40000 km without problems if the timing belt is REALY in good shape. And yes if the timing belt teeth fall off it may cause a damage to the engine (but not always if you are lucky). If it easy to replace this timing belt, well it all realy depends on your skills because in any video replacement looks so easy. Regards

@Data4664 email hechstone@gmail.com Do not lubricate timing belt. You need to remove the timing belt to know the real worn-out of the tensioner and timing belt. Whatsoever if you dont want to be worry about timing belt and sleep well, then just replace it (follow the video) how to chek the tensioner is in my "skoda superb video". Have a nice day.

Which year is this Passat from? And why do you loosen the cam sprockets?

1)Year 2007. 2)Because sometimes i follow the workshop manual and by loosen cam bolts you get right tension on the timing belt and synchronization between camshaft and crankshaft

did you replace the studs also ? thanks

no, because sometimes these studs are unscrewed together with the aluminum thread of the cylinder head on them and then you have a problem. so if the stud is ok ( not bent) just leave
