So, to be frank; ‪@theurbangentry‬ inspired me to release this unboxing. I took a break from car work, and wanted to show you guys a much smaller scale hobby of mine.
Timex has a pretty incredible place in history. Founded in 1854, they started in Connecticut as a clock company. Timex actually manufactured mechanical components for missiles during the boom of American missile development in the late 1950s. Timex coined a slogan that (hopefully) everyone has heard by now, "It takes a licking and keeps on ticking".
The original Marlin was mechanical, hand wind. Eventually, some Marlins were made as automatic (rare), some being made in Great Britain. Back in 2016-2017, Timex re-leased the Marlin with another hand wind movement, but made by SeaGull this time. The remake, mimics the original Marlin of the 1960's with it's classic "Mad Men" style. The amazing thing is, they kept it true to its heritage, at 34mm. Then, in 2019 they released it again! This time in smaller production runs, including 40mm automatic offerings with solid, sunburst dials and some fun dials- like Snoopy and Charlie Brown.
