Jacob, I have going there since I was 12. I am 68 now. A lot has changed, but many things have stayed the same or almost the same. You missed the Atlantic Hotel, a carefully restored 1920's hotel that has been updated slowly, but has kept the restored look of the original building. It even still has the original dining room tables set up, but not used for many years. They finally put bathrooms in all the rooms by the 1980's. Before that it had shared bathrooms and some rooms used the shared bathroom on the hall. It was done the old hotel way. It was so charming. TVs didn't come in rooms until the 70's. Phones were run by the pull cord switchboard in the office but we're available from early in the hotel's history. It is still run by the original family from Baltimore. Great place. Been staying there since I was 14 in 1964.

Don't be fooled. The Original Boardwalk Elvis passed away earlier this year. He walked the boards as Elvis for 40 years. He didn't sing for tips! Enjoy the boardwalk, arcades, and Thrasher's French Fries! Memorial Day to Labor Day is the season for Ocean City. They even have a boardwalk tram that takes you from one end of the boards to the other.

So cool to see you tour the boardwalk I've been going to as a kid. I love Ocean City, Maryland and will go until I die. Btw, Ocean City hack: go to the more low key Thrashers on the other end of the boardwalk to avoid the line.

Thanks for the memories, Have not been to OC Md since I moved across country 30 years ago. Hasn't changed much at all. Fun facts. Ocean City has only about 8,000 permanent residents, yet in the busy season is the states second largest city, behind only Baltimore in population. US route 50 starts in Ocean City and ends in Sacramento Ca. One of the best ways to drive across country.

Ohhhh noooo you drowned poor Teddy :'( lmao. That was actually a really cool place, very reminiscent of I guess the 40's, 50's and possibly 60's era's. Either way it was so nice to see the amusements of a bygone era saved from the amusements graveyard. A really good video, thank you Jacob. x

I worked at Trimper's and Marty's Playland the summer of 1995. Ate at the Inlet Inn, slept at the motel above the arcade. What a fun summer having a key to the arcade! When I saw the games it brought back so many memories, my spiel "Beat the heat, get off the street, rest your feet and play Roooll a Balll!" Went to OC every year. Had a crazy senior week there. I remember tennisball tank battles. Thrashers. (Lots of parties and bars.) And Go Karts at Jolly Rodger. Jet Skiing on the bay. Pier Rides. Went to high school with Chris Trimper, what a good guy, he passed recently. Ive not been back to OC for over 20 years, thanks for the trip down memory lane!

Trimpers amusements is awesome for keeping the vintage rides alive. Can't wait to see what you show us next. I know you are in no way passing up Ripley's or the Haunted House. Hope you get a chance to do some research on the Haunted House. It is a true vintage dark ride opened in 1964, designed by legendary Bill Tracy of Dark Ride history. Thanks as always!

If you like going back in time, I suggest you do a trip to Smith Island. Its about an hour south of Ocean City, its an island located on the Chesapeake Bay. You can get there by boat only, and many of the people there still speak whats called old English. Its like going back in time, and between that and the town of Crisfield that you go to to take the ferry over, its a very good taste of Eastern Shore Delmarva culture.....

Wow, that looks cool. I didn't know there was that many different kinds of sand. Someone should do a collection of dirt around the world too.

Hey jacob, check out seashell city down in fenwick. Your not to far away from it, and it has a cool museum built inside of it.
