Time to Reflect on Ben Challum | Crianlarich, Tyndrum, Ben Challuim | Munro Bagging

Alistair enjoyed a hike on Ben Challum in great weather, giving him fantastic views of all the neighbouring Munros in the area and beyond, including Ben Lui, Ben Cruachan, Ben More, Stob Binnein, Cruach Ardrain, Beinn Dorain and many more. The walk is a straightforward out and back with some boggy sections lower down, leading on to a brilliant ridge walk to reach the summit.

Great vid. I did this mountain a few years ago but from the glen etive side. Was lucky to have clear sunny skies with the views too.

The walk over to the summit was rather enjoyable. Do you mean you walked up from Glen Lochay? Glen Etive is a decent distance away.

Realised after watching more of the vid that it’s not even the right mountain, didn’t read the title right 😂😂 I climbed Beinn Chaluim. When I saw the train track I knew I’d f’d up. 😂 Still a cracking vid. Can’t wait to be back up in the highlands for some more adventures myself in a few weeks.

Hi, really loved the video, your presentation was brilliant. I was overjoyed to see the rose on the summit cairn, I placed it there in honour of my mother, who died a few days before my ascent of Ben Challum as my last Munro. What date did you do this walk please? The flower was placed there on 12/10/21. Thanks very much, Ed

That’s a beautiful gesture Ed, sorry to hear of the circumstances of it though. I completed this on 27th Oct and it was still perfectly placed where it appears in the video. I thought it was a lovely touch to the summit and not something I had ever seen before.

Thank you for your kind response. I feared for the flower lasting longer than a few hours. My day up there was dire, but to see it on your footage is just amazing. Thank you.

Nice one, looks like a great day. Did this one a couple of years ago, only met two people (they were not together) and we ended up going for coffee and cake in the Artisan Cafe together afterwards. You meet nice people on the hills ( mostly😃).

Alistair could you kindly tell me what editing software you use. I loved the labels indicating the mountains. I have to say your sentiments on climbing at the end of your video I echo strongly. Eloquently put over.

Thank you for the kind words Danny, very appreciated. I use DaVinci Resolve and created those labels myself. The software is free to use however has a steep learning curve to begin with.
