Stewart Ainsworth could have his own show. Walking around parts of the British Isles pointing out all the amazing earthworks people have never even noticed before.

@@harbourdogNL I agree. I really love the extra context he brings to each site. It really helps the history of the landscape come to life.

Totally!!! I was just about to comment that I would LOVE to apprentice under him the most! I'm in Canada and not trained so that won't be happening any time soon, lololol.

Yes please!
Of course I have learned a lot about archaeology from watching Time Team, but one of the main sources of enjoyment for me has always been the camaraderie of the Team and its varying members. Such great people. I wanna hug 'em.
One thing that always jumps out at me, is Tony's ability to play as the confused, and potentially frustrated viewer in understanding the archaeology. I'm not sure if this is exactly what he is trying to do when he assumes the role of the frustrated skeptic. However, in my head it really sets the stage for the archaeologists to explain their hypothesis about their work on the site. I cannot say this enough, but this show is simply brilliant.

He memorized a script, of course.
Nothing can beat these guys as professionals and pure enjoyment of the their personalities. If there was every a group of people that needs to live forever, it would be TIME TEAM ORIGINAL

I love archeology it's part of my history. Now retired Environmental Archaeologist but still a professional Genealogist and archivest. It just never leaves you.
Loving watching Tony and Phil.
I'm an American archaeologist. These people are my people!
Always enjoy your posts and getting caught up in the excitement 😊
Thanks!
Thanks
Great posting thank you
Always enjoy ! Bravo.
Wonderful!!
Thank you.
Phil should get himself a clip to attach his hat to his collar so it won't fly off. Perhaps large, neon orange flags at each excavation would help you guys find each other in fog, etc..
That's a massively deep well of ooze.
It's those triangle house that puzzle me. I mean the HOA in medevil times was brutal.
“MORE HARDEST” ……. What a very unique use of the English language.

This is really old neer the landfill
What would the residents be doing with the human waste?

Most refuse was put into pile, or “middens”, what would now be compost piles, but all trash went in them. Bones, broken pottery things like that.

I would suspect that things we would refer to as rubbish or trash would be thrown on a midden (a pit dug in the "back garden" used like a dustbin or rubbish tip. The.....erm......"organic waste" produced by the humans themselves (he said, trying not to be too scatological) probably went into a separate pit dug under an outdoor latrine, or in rural areas might have been spread on the fields to act as a fertiliser.
Emma is just coring and tasting away.
Been watching the show for a couple decades. However, there are too many damn promotional ads within the video. 1-2 times understandable but 3+.

There can be many harder digs, but only one hardest one. Do you need to repeat kindergarten English It could be well worth a thought to do so.

They are the top 3 hardest, meaning they were the hardest 3 out of all the digs they have done. Why correct grammar when you're so blatantly wrong

English superlatives can apply to any number you choose. There are a lot of KZread videos with top ten lists, or top three - all kinds of numbers, but usually small ones. The top three best-scoring olympic athletes in a sport get medals. The best-scoring athlete gets a gold medal. These are the three hardest digs, but they don't really say which one was hardest of the three. I like that. It feels friendlier, somehow.
Interesting
Wonderful!!
