I genuinely can't believe it's been 22 years since I first heard this. It does indeed cause 'temporal timeslips'
This alters brain-wave pattern, you can disappear into the sonic rhythms. - People will still listen to this a thousand years from now.

I agree buddy. A thousand years from now, this will be celebrated. it will never be listened to in terms of millions of listeners but there will be a group of people, much more than there is now, who are wholly wrapped around the Coil. It is a pagan rite of passage already, this, Moonsmilk, Constant Shallowness, Black Light District, Astral Disaster, The Remote Viewer and the two Musick to Play in the Dark - Coil's 'Moon Phase' will never die out. That light will flicker for eternity...and then some...

True, I'm from a thousand years from now
This puts me in an incredible headspace. Listened to the whole album 5 times in 2 days I’ve never done psychedelics, but based on erowid reports, the sounds seem to reflect the experiences accurately
The cover is apparently a Black Mirror. Like the one John Dee used for his magical evocations, and apparently Dee had brought from America. The mirror had been made by Aztecs.

fan for 30 yrs now; ahead of there time then, ahead of their time now, Coil was/is the best at expressing the edge of consciousness that is everywhere at once across space and time
Truly unnerving psychedelia, the strangeness of the wilderness that is outside of the circus tent.
Terence MKenna's recommendation, Im very grateful.
I have been on this trip for over 20 years now and there is still nothing, zouch, like it! This is Maximum Minimalism. Life is awash in paradox. Take the trip man, it is waiting for you. Time is relative to everything when it comes down to this baby. Enjoy...forever...

This is like the grandson Tangerine Dream " Zeit " ´s album is most proud of .
Listened to this whilst high, best idea I ever had
Greatest ( I even feel reluctant to call them a ´band` ) sounds ever assembled by a couple of human beings . Might sound pompous but that is what it is to me , this is far from being ´music ` only ... so rich in conveying ideas, concepts - the references which open a window to so many equally enriching worlds . I feel honoured to have met both Jhonn and Sleazy in the same plane of existence .
@HerrTelef
4 жыл бұрын
I met band members, too. Gentle and funny guys. What the most listeners or "new fans" maybe not know, that COIL were more than Peter Christopherson and Geoff Rushton. There were even other members who brought particularly important sounds and impulses. For this album Drew McDowell was the guy who bring this dronesound with Moog- synthesizers. He did rare live gigs of Time Machines in last few years.

Really good white noise to be honest. I'm not sure if I would classify it as music, at least in a traditional sense, but I'm glad I kept an open mind and tried it out, anyway. I'm really glad this exists, I've been looking for something that deliberately puts you in a trance or is designed to help you focus and lose track of time, and this is excellent for that.
