Bastardization of something I cherished as a boy. How dare they even touch a classic film and mutilate it.

No wonder Terry Gilliam walked away. He knows this is going to be complete garbage :-)

So, the boy is shown as a geek but paints his figurines as if he is dumb or blind!? Is there no KZread in this universe?!

The original still exists, that's great. I expect I'll watch this because I have Apple, but it's more of a 'why not' watch with no particular expectation.

I’d rather watch the original. Saw it in the theatre when I was a kid and always liked it. I’ll pass on a new version.

I think it looks okay. I didn't laugh at all but it got a smile out of me. Plus, and if you've not seen her in anything but Friends you might not know this, Lisa Kudrow is a gifted comedienne. She's very good at playing a snarky person who believes she's by far the smartest person in the room but falls flat. She has a very British comedic sensibility. So I'm looking forward to more I don't think Taika Waititi ruined Thor. One of the movies was pretty good. For the other I think Disney signed Natalie Portman and built the movie around that rather than let the creatives craft the story in a way that flowed from the ideas they explored in the previous installment. You have to admit those two movies are pretty dissonant in a lot of ways. They don't quite fit together, right? Well, that's why. Studios make big demands and creatives can't always make it work. See Spider-Man 3 for a great example. Taika Waititi is actually very good. He's made Jojo Rabbit and What We Do In The Shadows. Let's not get tunnel vision here And yeah, they should have hired little people of some description. Hollywood is not fond of people who have disabilities and/or conditions unless we're inspiring them or otherwise making them feel better. You know the "magic negro" trope? I call it "the magic cripple." If you have a disability and/or condition you know this well. Game Of Thrones was a step forward, Dinklage was in that one X-Men movie, and Warwick Davis has done well for himself but generally they prefer to work with people who can pretend to be disabled or ill or whatever (that's why the only thing you usually see is someone in a wheelchair) or just cut that bit altogether. For all the representation initiatives they have it's a bit odd that we disableds and others who have various conditions and such aren't included more. Funny, that

Ouch. What happens to these directors after a couple good movies? I liked Jo Jo Rabbit, Hunt for the Wilder People, and What we do in the Shadows. All good stuff imo. The hipster M. Night it's looking like.

It seems the Dwarfs are getting replaced by regular people in things these days. I miss seeing them on our screens

I got about 12 seconds into the trailer, stopped it, clicked thumbs down, and found better things to watch.

I watched it. I wanted to like it because I liked the movie. All I could think was: "When will this get funny?" I'm still waiting.

Trailer looks great, can't wait for the series.

They made time bandits into a series? No dwarves for the main cast and loses the message entirely. Yup sounds about right.

Good video! I knew greed was a theme in the original, but you tied Kevin's parents to it well. They really do reinforce it. And David Warner was fantastic in the original. The remake looks like a weak, uninteresting version of the original.

I liked the original movie. I'm glad it's not a carbon copy of the original movie. This look's like something the whole family could watch. I'll check it out and see how it goes.

When the folks in the trailer actually referred to themselves as "The Time Bandits" I was done. This looks so disappointing.

I am thankful They Live,Short Circuit and Krull and not bee touched................yet.

Why in hell would anyone want to remake a classic like Time Bandits. The original was a brilliant childhood fantasy and made history enchanting. Sean Connery as Agamemnon was a master stroke of casting. You really feel Kevin's sadness when he's dragged away from ancient Greece. Who wouldn't want to be able to travel into the past, a past full of heroes and danger, where good and evil are clearly defined. Who wouldn't want to be a companion to a hero of the Trojan War? The 'Kevin' in this is rubbish: a stereotype, a Geek with glasses and all, not an ordinary boy who is simply fascinated by history, by battles, by heroism and adventures that feed his boyish imagination. Why can't modern production companies leave things alone and just hire imaginative new writers (actually just hire people who can write!) to create original adventures for children... Like Terry Jones and Gilliam did! Oh, I forgot, Woke activism, pushing 'The Message' and a profound lack of talent is more important than telling stories that entertain, educate and inspire, and take you to other places and other times. It is indeed a world turned upside down! The fact that Terry Gilliam walked off the set is all we need to know.

Hated it. Gilliams creation can't be altered this much.

I'm a kid of the 80s, loved T.G.s Time Bandits, this just looks like another woke remake..have enough women or coloured folks in it? check! This era really is creatively bankrupt.

This feels like an American interpretation of British comedy writing. To in your face and no subtlety. Again the average of the average of the average to appeal to everyone and appeals to no one. Glad it is on Apple TV where no one will ever see it and less will talk about it.

Totally agree with your review, this reboot is YET another example of a remake/re-boot/re-hash totally ripping out all of 'great things' that made the original so remarkable and gain a cult following ....to only replace it with a lame interpretation ....actually I like most of what the makers behind have done previously...but this remake was well off / so misguided ....all you need to know about this project is that Gilliam himself walked ...end off

Remaking a Terry Gilliam film 🤔. You're not going to make it any better. What's with hollywoods hate for the little people.

WHY? Has the human imagination become so stagnate that they cant create anything original?

Not sure a early 80s film that worked because of its very british pythonesque nature can then be turned into a drawn out series that is just a way for Taika and Jermaine to insert themselves and think they can get laughs from..so far not many laughs just a bit of differnt styles mashed togather and I dont think these guys are funny anymore and it shows. From the mess that destroyed Thor to this these guys have outstayed their welcome. Sad really watching 2 middle aged men prove they are done.

The trailer was unbearable. I won't ever watch this appalling series.

The first 2 episodes are pure crap. Worse than crap, is stinking visual diarrhea.
