Created for television by Jemaine Clement (“Flight of the Conchords”), Iain Morris (“The Inbetweeners”) and Taika Waititi (“Reservation Dogs”), and produced for Apple TV+ by Paramount Television Studios, Anonymous Content’s AC Studios and MRC, Time Bandits is an unpredictable journey through time and space with a ragtag group of thieves and their newest recruit: an 11-year-old history buff named Kevin. Together, they set out on a thrilling quest to save the boy’s parents - and the world.
Consisting of 10 episodes, “Time Bandits” is produced for Apple TV+ by Paramount Television Studios, Anonymous Content’s AC Studios and MRC. Jemaine Clement, Iain Morris and Taika Waititi executive produce, write, and direct select episodes, with Clement and Morris serving as co-showrunners. Garrett Basch and Tim Coddington also executive produce along with Jane Stanton who executive produces for Handmade Films.
Time Bandits will premiere globally on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes on Wednesday, July 24, followed by two new episodes every Wednesday through August 21, 2024.

Taika's greatest talent imo is also his greatest weakness. He has such a unique and specific feel to his work. You can feel his personality through his directing/writing style. Which is great when it's an original project. But when he touches existing IPs, it almost always goes sideways
There went a great opportunity to cast talent that doesn't get cast often and surely would have appreciated the work and opportunity to get their names and faces out there.

To be honest the three individuals at 1:42 should be the time bandits along with others to make up the crew. It shouldn't matter if the actors are known or not. In the film you discover the different characters through the journey. That was part of the brilliance of the film.

Of all the movies that don't need remakes, Time Bandits if definitely near the top of the list. It's actually kind of sad seeing Taika Waititi make so many bad choices after such a strong start to his career.
You know it's bad when the official trailer page on YT had to turn their comments off. (Rumor has it they're trying to travel back in time to figure out a way to cancel this before it was ever made.)
Oh look, another remake nobody needed or wanted.

Sounds like Lisa Kudrow's character from Death to 2020 decided to change occupations...
The villain in the 80s version was more scarier than this modern version

This, this is why nobody talks about Apple plus this does not need to exist and LISA KUDROW is your lead in this, so there was absolutely nobody else in Hollywood (including dwarf actors apparently) that didn’t wanted to be part of this cult classic

That was just regular-sized actors putting on shortstature and shortstature is frowned upon these days.
the original movie freaked me out as a kid. watching it now and its one of my favorite movies.

80's kids movies were all at turns terrifying and depressing. This actually looks like a nice change of pace.

So they barely showed Evil, my favorite character which would've been the selling point for me. So either he's the funniest part and they're saving it for the actual show, or he's the least funny and they're trying to hide it.
Not only did they steal Time Bandits, they sided with Evil and corrupted it!
