    Some jobs can be awkward and very messy. Great job though guys. Enjoy the oncoming snow. Stay well.

    Hi Darren, Spent about 3 hours on the trot watching this playlist. I've learnt so much and really appreciate you putting it out there. But hey man, do yourself a favour, treat yourself to a nice good quality battery powered SDS drill. You really don't want all those nasty electric cables and tools near water. If you get a chance I'd love to see you do a video about all that boring paperwork you have to do before you start and during the build. :)

    I want to get an extension done on my own property and there is a manhole in the way. Great video as this is an eye opener for me to know how extensive the works are. Much appreciated Darren keep them vlogs coming.

    Thank you for showing how the sewer system runs underneath backyards in the UK. That was tiring and disgusting work replacing the inspection chamber.

    Hi Darren you know that you can get a drain bung to stop the flow from the manhole upstream you can hold the stream back for a day or so.... keeps it dry where you are working... Always good fun taking them out afterwards

    Yeah I didn’t have one but we improvised with rubble bags 🤣 we only needed 5mins anyway so it worked out. Will likely use one when we are removing the old existing manhole 👍🏾

    Normally I'd stick a large piece of rag tied with rope to bung the flow coming down . Then when the jobs done just pull the thing out.

    Love a bit of drainage. I got a torx wrench on the last bit I did as saw on the rubber couplings it has what they need tightening too so the metal clip does not cut into the rubber. Glad you blocked the other chamber else you would of been up to you kness in it. Good luck with the rest of your project.

    It looks like a house upstream has a leak. That flow was constant. Normally the flow would stop and start as taps are turned on and off or a loo is flushed.

    Nasty job but you got it done. Good job! Next time try digging a sump in the corner for the water to collect and a full size disc saw cuts all the way through without the risk of breaking the pipe. Just a thought 👍🏻

    thats the first time ive seen those pvc to clay undergronund connectors (not the flexi seals). are they a good fit onto the clay?

  • @darrenthebuilder

    @darrenthebuilder

    Жыл бұрын

    Yeah they are good. They’re actually the preferred fitting of the water company but the problem is you can’t use them both ends as you need a slip coupler to get the other end connected.
