“I think there’s fear for how long this will go on for” - Tim Minchin.
What happens to an artist when they can’t perform? What’s it like when you’re driven to create, and have no creative outlet? If there are still months to go before all the theatres reopen, how will artists cope?
Australian musician, actor, writer and comedian Tim Minchin talks about what it’s been like for artists in shutdown, and how you can help the arts thrive again.

We can't survive without arts - it's nutrition for soul and mind, and we need that, especially in darker times, to stay human
Just keep doing what you do. Last year I lost my dad. And my son and I are having a hard time. But, you have been helping him and i out with your music. So thank u😁! You are a wonderful human being and we need more people like you
I'm a carer for my mum who has dementia. It's been tough as I have no respite from caring. I done something I've never done...... Started growing flowers. I get an hour when mam has her nap and I'm out in the greenhouse..... I think I would have cracked without it. Stay safe everyone xx
I adore Tim minchin and his work. I’ve had creative projects get killed after a month or two of work, I can’t imagine a setback after four years of hard work. He is a role model of creative perseverance and self reinvention. I can only hope my own work can enrich others the way Tim minchin’s work has helped me.
Your words and wisdom have given me a new lease on laughter and life. I cannot thank you enough.
Love you Tim. We needed artists to come forward when this whole shitshow started. You have a voice and an audience. Musicians move millions. You preferred fear. Art is a subsidiary of banking now.
It's all coming undone Tim I hope that you are checking the real time data of excess deaths and it's causation.
