So this song is actually a prayer that a mom used to tell her kids as they grew up, and then turned it into a song. She sat down with Tim McGraw before he released it and she told him all about how it came to be.

Go with it. Tim McGraw said he couldn't make it through the taping without crying. Never miss an opportunity to talk with your grandparents. They know so much. Wonderful reaction, young man.

It's hard to see it when you're little. When you're little it all sounds like pop country, but then you get older and realize there is also "story telling" country and that it's AMAZING.

Mr. Sebs.... waiting till marriage..... getting a job.... having your kids, after getting married... YES, that really does prove who a person (or persons) really are. Mr. Sebs with his lovely wife & lovely family are proof that living by these standards & principals really does pay-off! What a positive KZread channel! Very glad we (recently) found this channel!

My favorite line of the song....."Know the difference between sleepin with someone and sleepin with someone you love. I love you ain't no pick-up line." So many have confused sex with love and severely cheapened the value of both in the process. So sad.

I know this is an older video but I just found your channel and I'm watching all your Country videos. I think I'm a little older than you (38) but I grew up on Country and once I hit middle school it wasn't cool anymore. So from probably 7th grade until I was 21 it was Hip Hop and R&B. Don't get me wrong Three 6 Mafia, Usher, Eminem and others like that there will never be anyone else like them because that music isn't the same. So for the last 17 years it's been back to Country. I started dating my Wife in high school and we got married when I was 21 and it's been great and I can relate our marriage to Country songs all day long. Thanks for the great videos.

Country music is all about being grounded. Believing in and practicing the Christian values. Opening up and sharing our human flaws. Knowing that none of us are perfect, but that together we can overcome whatever is in our lives together. Sure some country songs are about cheating, and breaking up, and drinking too. However to me the songs that have made the biggest impact are the ones that are like what I described above. Our lives are full of turbulence, and we all have made bad decisions, but if we all come together we can get through it. That is why I love country music.

You need to see the official video. So powerful & moving. This is from a few years ago, but you should check out one of his earliest hits called 'Don't take the girl'. A sweet story' song. And 'Live like you were dying' is another uplifting song like this, in a weird way. Also, since you watched 1883, you should also check out a duet with his wife Faith Hill, who plays his wife on that show. 'I need you' or 'It's your love' or 'Let's make love' are a great start.

Be careful what you allow yourself to watch and see, your mind is a recorder and it always replay in your mind forever.
