Sorry for your loss. This movie always meant a lot to me. I watched this so much on HBO as a kid I eventually got my grandmother to record it on a blank VHS tape in 1990. The tape got so worn out over the years it eventually became unwatchable in 2002. I kept trying to find it on DVD for years and eventually found it at Best Buy for $18 in 2004. Of course now you can easily find it in any bargain bin for $3-$5 and it’s always on Tubi, KZread, and Pluto Tv for free. My son has watched it with me a few times but it didn’t leave nearly the same impression but my wife loved it and still doesn’t believe the Interceptor was a Dodge lol. The movie got me interested in cars and I started working on my own cars at 16. I’m 38 now and been an automotive technician for a living the last 10 years. Movie and that car will always hold a special place in my heart.
My son past away on his motorcycle accident April 30,2015 this was his favorite song and movie since he was 6. He was 19 when he passed away. I listen to it everyday

It was cool til you got in trouble. Every decade has it's ups and downs. Many more things are better now. That's why they have to make up issues because, most have been beaten. The 80's had real issues to fight.
I just finished this movie for like the thousandth time and had to look this song up. Born in the 90s but still got the 80s nostalgia.

True, man. It's a song for more innocent times. Today's society seems to be overloaded with cynicism. A little bit of cynicism is ok, it might even be desirable to help you navigate through the realities of life, but too much of it can be toxic. And it actually is.

That's a pretty good description of how the music and even films gripped your soul.... Tons of emotion, feeling, and passion. And yeah, I don't think it'll ever be repeated.
