Best description and quote, I ever heard about him!
I remember when I was in high school and the newspaper read that he wasn’t going to the NBA after his junior year so he could finish his degree. I was really considering dropping out of school myself but just knowing that he was giving up the #1 pick in the NBA to fulfill a promise kept me going on until I graduated.

I was 23 when he played his first one, 41 when it ended in Oklahoma City in 2016. I saw the whole thing. I'm a Spurs fan since I was seven; I don't need anything else between now and the end. If it happens again in San Antonio, it'll be awesome - but I already saw the greatest stretch of basketball a team could play. Every year of his career, the Spurs were a title threat. Unreal.
Hated the Spurs as a Laker fan back in the late 90's early 00's. I feel privileged to have been able to see Tim Duncan and those Championship teams! What a time it was!

I just love how everyone mentions the lakers putting the Spurs out 2 times in their 3 peat but nobody ever mentions that the Spurs beat them in the playoffs 1st in 1999 on our way to our 1st championship, then beat them again in 2003. in 2004 they beat us and then got beat by Detroit in finals with a super team in LA. If not for Derick Fishers famous .4 sec shot Spurs win that game and likely that title, cuz the next year they came back and won it all and beat the Samw Pistons team that beat the Lakers the year b4. Duncan & spurs so underrated it should be a crime. now we got Wembanyama and just for the record we are NOT accepting applications for bandwagaon fans. keep that same energy u had about the Spurs winning RINGS with Duncan as u do with the spurs winning RINGS with Wemby. word to your motha!

Tim Duncan was a all around player. Meaning he was phenomenal at offense and defense. I only seen one other player on that level and it was Jordan. That's why I would put him with Jordan. The man knows how to win and did it consistently. Look at the winning percentage! It speaks for itself. In my opinion he was the best player to come out the NBA after Jordan. Only two players were on top in the Duncan era and the other player was Koby Bryant. (RIP Mamba) Both are the goats. But Duncan is higher. One more MVP, One more finals MVP, Rookie of the year, Won a title in his second year, plus all the other awards and accomplishments. If u add his college career then it is over!! I suggest u look up his college awards and accomplishments. Not to mention he would be over all 1st in the NBA draft for his sophomore, junior and senior years if he chose the NBA instead of Finnishing college. His quadruple double he did in the finals was phenomenal. Which if had been recorded right would look like this 👉 21/20/10/10 in the finals for the championship. He is the only player in NBA history to have a quadruple double in the playoffs and he did it in the finals which makes it even more special! Say what u want but Tim Duncan is definitely top 5 all time and u could make a case for top 3 and that 🐐 spot. I truly believe he was the best player sents MJ. Anyone who over looks Timmy and how special and rare of a player he is.. "YOU DON'T KNOW BASKETBALL!" 💯✌️ 😂😂😂

@@osheaelnegrojackson3105 in 2003 Tim Duncan won MVP and went into the playoffs as the 1 seed with no teammate averaging more than 15 ppg and only 4 teammates even averaging double digit points. Not only did he carry the spurs, he did it facing teams like the Staudimire Suns, Kobe/Shaq Lakers, Nash/Nowitzki Mavs, and JKidd Nets. Duncan was so dominant not a single series even went 7 games… and once again he was by himself. Tim Duncan actually holds the record for most championships without another all nba teammate with 3, Hakeem has 2 and nobody else has more than 1. @@osheaelnegrojackson3105 so basically what u just said is his 2000-2005 run where he was a top 2 player on the planet on a team where the talent around him was minimal was just irrelevant lmao ok. He caught DRob at the end of his career and he had 2 good seasons with Duncan before becoming a roll player. Ginobili and Parker didn’t hit their primes until 2007 so Duncan played a whole decade without a prime version of them and Kawhi wasn’t even Kawhi until Duncan’s last year. Context matters, you’re trying to belittle a career that was built on one person who just flat out won games. I love how u point out guys like Kobe, Lebron, Shaq, Magic, and Kareem and then say Duncan had a lot of help lmao each of those guys have a combined zero championships without another all nba teammate. Duncan has 3, which is the most in NBA history. Really bad take, he might be the most underrated player in NBA history
