One of the best lines for sure but my favorite line was "In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is King"
"Well, you've had one to be nervous." "Can I have one to be terrified, too?" 😆
I could listen to him all day. He is respectful, professional and doesn’t dish dirt.
I love this man. I love the way he tells stories, but mostly love that he doesn’t do the celebrity bs. He does his work well, in so many projects and goes home. No red carpet, tabloids nonsense.

That's how most actors are, you're just presented an image of them by media in order to demonize them. They are required to go to premieres and promote the movie, most of them find it a grudging process.

@@Zed-ti9ujI guess you’re right. They are often forced to be salesmen for the upcoming movie. But there’s plenty of them who do indeed lean into it, often when they try to leverage their celebrity status in order to campaign for a politician or some political movement, or when they make appearances that are meant to just be a glorification of their presence.
I love the guy in the corner writing his memoirs.
Great golly! That's Buster Scruggs. Cinematic royalty. 👑
One to be nervous, two to be perfect, easy-peasy😵💫
In my experience, the best leaders are both willing and eager to understand and perform the jobs of everyone they lead. They expect a lot, but they do so from a place of understanding and respect.

Now see. If Spielberg would have told me, “You had one to be nervous”, I would have been even more of a nervous wreck 😂.
Love these interviews. Professional, inside but not gossip, discussing skills and the art. Makes me want to have a do over and work in movies.
I would love to hear about "casual" experiences with Daniel Day Lewis while he was in character. What must that be like I wonder?
I didn't realise how important 'Best Boy' is on a set - no electricals no movie.
"Its against the rules" "Anything else going on in here thats against the rules?"
I’m a technician in film & TV. The only directors who’ve talked to me have been old-school (guys who’ve been in the game for decades). Never have I ever been asked ‘what would make my job easier’. Holy heck! 😂
Dont forget Speilberg's acting turn in the Blues Brothers. Not too shabby.

such a great and fun actor.....
Tim Blake Nelson is a magnificent talent.
Dang Spielberg sounds intimidating without trying to be intimidating.
Damn these are good clips! I´ve been watching this channel for sometime now. Allways delivers and I like that every guest has a room to tell their story, things that has happen, what they think about it etc. Good stuff!
The important lesson here is that, be constructive and polite at work and do NOT yell at your employees.
if someone told me not that i shouldn't be nervous, but that i can't be, i would tell them that they cannot be conscious, and they won't be. i wasn't built to work with people who don't know their place in my existence as a free man, like apparently stephen spielberg.
I feel like acting with Tom Cruise is like an interview. Whatever you feel about him, the guy is 100% on point in his work. You would struggle not to feel worthless unless you were someone like Ian McClellan or Christopher Bale.
can you imagine being a 3rd and all of a sudden steven spielburg pops his head in? lol
Spielberg isnt an 80 takes kinda director, he gets it right and moves on. Youd better be ready! Id be so nervous on that set lol.

This is FASCINATING!!!!
That's a really odd story from Tim Blake Nelson because - never mind being on a platform 30 feet above most of the crew, in a wheelchair no less - everyone gets nervous sometimes. Though we're talking about film so all that's required is to stop and do another take. The director might not be happy about it, but it's hardly unusual. In other words, what Nelson described had nothing at all to do with professionalism though clearly that's how he interpreted what happened, which is kinda sad.
It's Holes for me
I imagine Lewis could be a bit freaky, with him being a method actor and all that.
Doesn't Tim realize that all this exciting detail is only going to help Lex Luthor in his plans for world domination? 😮 lol
Dr. Pendanski?
Tom most certainly makes mistakes. Scientology is a huge mistake. And I don't believe for a second that he never flubs lines. Spielgerg isn't perfect either. Can we stop idolizing entertainers.

Spielberg was actually a big a-hole on set in the 1970s. He would treat actors well but was a tyrant to his crew. I think he was trying to live up to the stereotypical director persona. A female producer chewed him out for his behavior in the early 80s and since then he changed his ways.
@jkorshak

Noting skillsets and attributes contributing to an artist or a craftsman's critical and sometimes even commercial success isn't idolizing - particularly when it's among colleagues and associates who actually have worked with whoever they're talking about and work in and understand the medium. Nelson was obviously talking about Cruise on Minority Report and probably referencing the common experience from other actors who have worked with Cruise comprising the broad understanding of how prepared Cruise is. Anyone can flub lines - that's what rehearsals are for - if Nelson is exaggerating, it's probably by not too much.
Ouch, never apologize for missing your lines, try to improvise or allow the diretor to cut and set again... great actor though.

Whose idea was the scooby doo ending for Minority Report? The real Philip K. Dick ending, the movie ends when Tom goes into lockup. You don't know if the whole movie was his prison dream or not. The scooby doo ending was Tom confronting Max Von Sydow with the worst line ever "you used the memory of my dead son to set me up"

Doesn't feel like any other film. I had a bit of an issue with everything being explained by Max on the deck at the end. Movies shouldn't have explanations. It seemed to cater to the dimmer part of the audience. Otherwise...amazing.
