Picking one up today :)
How does the size compare to the existing mini follow focus? Is it the same size? Or is it slightly larger? I have a relatively compact rig and I’m looking for a small follow focus to match my set-up..
What is new (improved) over the Tiltaling Micro Follow Focus? It appears that that hard stop can be bypassed. Any other changes? Can the gear be moved to the opposite side to accommodate positioning the unit on a rig?

Yes the gear can be swapped onto the other side! For a full breakdown of new features, you can learn more here: tilta.com/shop/tiltaing-pocket-follow-focus/?mc_cid=e6f9ccaeb2&mc_eid=6d377f9d80

@@TILTAThere is a huge design flaw with this function that no one is talking about. Yes, you can indeed rotate the focus gear so that the direction of travel can be swapped around. BUT!!! With a lot of Sony G/GM lenses for example, where the focus ring is right at the end of the lens, this means you can’t then use a Matte Box because the mechanism of the follow focus unit sticks into it. So you are de facto restricted to just one direction of travel! And it’s not the intuitive one. It’s very frustrating. One solution might be to attach the follow focus on a rod above the lens. BUT!!! This is completely impractical with a professional set up/rig for multiple reasons. Another solution would be to provide ‘higher’ focus ring adapters. The ones made by Tilta are very flat so are no solution to the design flaw I have outlined. Grrr!

@davidp158 yes but with limitations. Please see my reply to Tilta below.
Is it finally possible to reverse direction of pull? (like with nikon vs canon focusing)

You can accomplish by mounting the unit on the other side of your lens!

@@TILTA this doesnt really help since normally people want to pull with the same hand

@@ausgeleiert Agreed. Being able to move the gear to the opposite side of the FF (not moving to entire unit to other side of lens) is often ideal.
Will this work on the cage for Sony FX9?
