While it is preferable to not be tied to an abuser with a child, its hard to sit here and think a miscarriage is a blessing, i wish she didn’t have to experience that at all :’( i really feel sick when i think about him faking an interview and stuff while she was in the hospital suffering that shit is pure evil Edit I just wanna clarify I’m very pro choice but at the time she thought it was her turn for marriage and happiness and a family and when you want the child a miscarriage is a huge loss!!!!!! I’m thinking of how crushed she was in the moment, not in retrospect

Very true. I had someone tell me that I need to get married and that I should just pick somebody because I'm getting old. I was 29. If you mention any red flags about a guy, they'll try to convince you that you're just being picky. The same people who talk to women like this are the same ones who will be front and center, judging you and calling you desperate/stupid when the person you "just picked" dogs you out. Women are just so desperate to be able to say they're married.

I almost married the wrong man too! Men are always spreading the narrative that only women are gold diggers so many women fail to consider that a man might be using them for resources. I think that Legion needed to leech off a woman to secure housing because his criminal record probably prevented him from signing his own lease (many apartments do background checks). Ladies-- any man who wants to move into YOUR home in under 6 months is a HUGE red flag, even if he's paying bills. They're probably trying to save money or they're incapable of qualifying for a home on their own. My ex actually had a good education and good job paying roughly 150k when he moved into my home so I didn't think he could be using me, but once he moved in I realized he was EXTREMELY irresponsible with money. He lost over $120k making sketchy trades on the stock market while living with me, got a $40k capital gains tax bill that he couldn't afford, and after he moved out I discovered he had nearly $140k in student loans that he had NEVER disclosed to me-- can you imagine, he asked my dad for my hand in marriage BEFORE ever disclosing his debts and dire financial situation!! I would have been responsible for these debts if we got married! He even tried to convince me that the rent money he paid me should go towards him gaining equity in my home so he could become a partial owner of my condominium. THESE DUDES ARE CRAZY!!! He would also offer to pay for things and then flip at the last minute. At one point, I was laid off and he offered to pay the full mortgage instead of his usual half until I got a new job (I hadn't asked him to do this so I thought this was really sweet of him at the time!). The day before my mortgage payment was due, I followed up with him and he said he no longer wanted to help and needed to use the money to pay off his credit cards instead... obviously, i said that was ok and I used my own savings to pay my bills, but why volunteer to do something if you had no intention of following through?? It was sooooo strange! He also had at least $30k in credit card debt. The worst part is this guy went to an Ivy League school and had advanced degrees in financial engineering and math... I AM SO HAPPY BEING SINGLE!!!

It's not our place to tell others what, who, or how to love. You say love yourself, but there is no way to define that for someone else. For example, in my opinion, all the stuff you described are things people with low self esteem and don't love themselves do to fake it. Trips? Seriously. Love where you are. Shouldn't have to go anywhere to love yourself, in my opinion. I say all that to say that we all don't define love the same way.

I definitely think that the pandemic lockdown, him love bombing her from day one, her religious beliefs and wanting so bad to believe he was "the one" played a huge part in this moving beyond the beginning stages. I love to see that she is safe and happy and that she is letting others who have gone or are going through it that it's alright to talk about it and you don't have to be ashamed that you wanted something so bad you looked away from the red flags. I hope she has the time of her life in London!!

A great assessment. The Legion I married used his mother dying to hook me because I had just lost my Mom to cancer 3 months before I met him. I was a weakened mess. He took full advantage of that and I should have never gotten into anything even resembling a relationship. I own my decisions. I own my ignoring God. I loved the wrong person just like her!

The fact that this man was on two different profiles with 2 different names and she didn’t think there was anything wrong was wild. That should’ve been the first red flag she noticed. Better 6 months than 6 years. Thank God she’s out of this.

@@rosamaundallen1035 you ever heard of free will? Well God gave it to all of us. And sometimes he ALLOWS us to be ignorant or defiant so that it can help others who are equally as blind for whatever reason. I don't think I would have been that obtuse, but I can't lie and say I just like millions of other women haven't been in some odd predicament just to get the look of the life we're socially pressured to. Sorry she wasn't perfect enough for you. But I appreciate God allowing her mistake so she can help all the other imperfect women out there who are sometimes blind.

This video is the first I've heard of this story. I can say that her story struck a cord with me because of her authenticity, vulnerability and wisdom. This woman could and should start writing books. When she honestly said that she ignored red flags because she wanted it to be her turn, I felt that. I hope and pray that her life takes off from this point and that she meets her real life partner.
