That’s old skool… we all used say if you want take my picture then pay me for it. We’d get at least $5-10 dollars out of it and you’d end up in a book. Goths and Punks did that.

I like a small Korean punk band called Rumkicks, and the singer told me she slapped some "shitty clips" on tiktok, just as a promotional thing. They got abusive comments from punks saying "real punks aren't on tiktok" - comments they could only have left if they also had tiktok accounts.

I think its great that these guys are around to teach us the rules, guidelines and fashion for fitting into misfit culture.

Devil horns weren’t ever punk… they’re metal! Younger generations get it mixed up. It’s not gatekeeper! It knowing your scene properly.

The horns were an old Sicilian ward against evil from the old country, where Dio's gramma got it and he stole it. She didn't invent them lol. Of course, Gene Simmons also claims he invented it while waving and holding his pick, but most people credit it to Dio.

Fun fact Harley Clark, head cheerleader of University of Texas threw up the horns in 1955 at a game. As someone who was a townie in Bryan College Station(where the A&M Aggies are) long ago. It was double subversive to throw up the horns! And A&M did have merch with Bible verses to throw shade at UT for the hook em horns thing.

I'll tell you since I'm old school I lived through the 70's-80's punk explosion and 87 of my flyers artifacts from the 80's in Hollywood/LA CA. etc... are in the punk rock museum. The devil horns are a pledge of allegiance to Satan, and it leaked into punk rock through the punk/metal crossover 85-86 from the metal heads. Some were great crossover bands and many were lame, like that hand gesture. Punks throwing those horns are lost. Everything that punk represents today is what we old school punks despised and still do. Punks do not worship anything or anyone, let alone the goat, Lucy. So much for self governance and individuality in punk rock. Derp.

Tbh London has a nice diy scene, but it isn’t how it used to be. Tbh I’m not from London I’m from the south coast. The uk punk scene isn’t mainstream and I don’t want it to be. Fuck mainstream, keep shit how it is and let it evolve slowly. Punks not dead here just crashed in his dads gaff, necking stella’s and doing speed. While I was a lover of order punk rock like the Ramones, Sex Pistols, Circle Jerks, and bands like that I have had to stop lying to myself and admit that some people were actual gods! Deo is a god and now I can admit that. I felt like i was selling my soul and I was never a real punk fan, but you if something is true then you're not selling out your roots and forgetting what made you feel like a part of something bigger when there was nothing else to grab onto. Deo is someone who's influence is such a part of the fabric of rock and even punk as much as people hate to admit it, but nothing would be exactly as it is if Deo never was around to make those demonic noises and throwing up those horns. I'm not ashamed anymore!

One time in church I saw a guy doing the horns during the worship music and for just a second I had to wonder what the heck was going on. Turns out he was doing sign language for all the songs. I guess he's deaf or something. But that will always be a fun memory. :))
