Tikka T3x Varmint .223 1 in 8" twist - Groups with different types of ammo at 100 yards
Комедия
Groups that my Tikka T3x Varmint in .223 was able to pull off. I have since shot a .75 inch group with the Hornady 55 gr. V-Max bullets. They always work well in my rifles, so I wanted to give them another try.

Nice addition to your other video. I'm looking at this gun in this caliber for a next purchase.

it's a great gun. i have a remington 700 5r in stainless steel that im gonna do a video soon. the bolt on the tikka compared to the remington is night and day. the tikka bolt is smooth like no other!
Thank you for your help. Perfect video. I prefer the 1@8 twist, and you hit it on the head. 55 grains are hit n miss but they prefer the heavier grains. Very nice video. Thanks again!!!

Pitbull Bite thanks! That is definitely the case!
Try with a fine aiming point the red circle is too big to constantly get center
Well done in finding the most accurate load for your rifle, The Feds BTHP are grouping nice, Tikkas are accurate when they find the right load. Thanks for sharing your testing.

SpudTikka Balloch Appreciated! And yeah, the federals did really well, a week after i made this video I bought some calipers. The Australian outback ammo group was actually .62.. I really like that ammo. Thanks for watching
Interesting to see the cold bore shots together third shot off.
Out of 1.8 twist ar build .9" 3 shot group at 100 with sierra 69gr prairie enemy. outstanding video

You need to fine tune your bedding screws and make sure your barrel is free floating. The last two Tikka rifles I bought had touching spots of the furniture to the barrel, once free floated and bedding screws fine tuned the .223 gives .25MOA 10 shot groups with the Hornady 53gn V-Max, a deadly projectile.

I was wondering how it did with lighter pills. This answered my question. I’ll loading the heavier soon.
Many thanks for sharing!

Rhis is great and very helpful. I might puck one up soon for $8 Bill's. I think this will pair up well with not 18" SPR build. Looks like both will do well with 77gr.
I think 1:8 twist must like >62 grain bullets 😊
This was a nice, honest video. Hopefully handloads were tried, with a 1 in 8 twist I'd be expecting to see some longer, heavier bullets.
Barrel length, gunpowder & charge weight, consistency of case volume, bullet weight, neck tension of the bullet and of course bullet weight and outdoor temperature and humidity. Has the biggest factor in the groups . The heavier bullets in your gun looks like the way to go . Then play oal then your neck tension, then charge weight if you hand load. If you are using factory ammunition try it at 30• to 40• temp change. Some will really tighten up or open up. Good review you got there. I myself start with few box of factory ammunition. Let’s me know if I have a finicky barrel or not and preference in FPS and bullet weights.
I've got a Bergara BA13 in 1 in 8. 16.5 inch barrel. Paradoxically it shoots best with 150 gn round, one which is a generally accurate projectile and with a variety of 165 to 180 gn its average.
I actually expected a little better from the Tikka. My CZ 527 .223 1/9 was sub moa with 2 of the 3 factory loads I tried. My go to for chucks is the 55 grain v max.
Gad Zooks, not a good group in the bunch. Heavy gusty wind?

that american eagle that shot a 4 inch group? yeah, its terrible stuff. Its 50 grain polymer tipped ammo. I shot a group with that stuff in a remington 700 in .223 and a colt AR15. remington did a 3.2 inch group and the colt did about a 5 inch group (colt had a red dot though) that stuff sucks.

zhukie I have a tikka t3x Varmint 223 with a Boyd’s stock and 1-8 LotherWolther Varmint barrel. I’m able to shoot the 53gr vmax 1/2 moa. Some of the time you are right, the fast twists are picker with the light ones but sometimes are great. It also shoots the hornady 75gr bthp 1/4 moa. 5 shot groups

...the Federal GMM 69grn were 0.5 MoA in my 1:9 @100 yards.
My 223 rem t3x ctr don't like 55gr, 69gr ruag target shoot well for a bulk ammo. Soon trying some 5g scenars to see how they work.
That’s funny, everything else shot just as good as the all mighty Hornady 😂 #neverbeenimpressedwithhornady!

@@L33tmaster15 we don't get that in Arkinsaw thinking about a Tikka in 6.5x55
its funny how people think tikka cant make a shitter. they can!!! i bought a 22-250 with a barrel that is totally full of stress. i spent hundreds on load development and it just throws rocks all over the place. and no there were no stones unturned. i spent 60 bucks on Devcon aluminum epoxy and filled the forearm and bedded the action better than most can because im a very competent rifle accuracy gunsmith. tikka makes outstanding actions but they have mass produced barrels that can be great and can also suck.
1/8 twist should shoot anything and especially in a Tikka. 55 grain is not too light for 1/8. I had a Colt AR with a 1/7 twist that would shoot moa/sub moa with handload 55 grain.
Looks like that rifle does not like factory loads
