Tikka T3x HUNTER with Nate Hosie

Спорт

All our rifles, like this classic looking Tikka T3x HUNTER are built in Riihimäki Finland, by hunters for hunters. What separates them from the others immediately, is the silky smooth bolt action that can’t really be described - You have to experience it yourself.

I really feel that you understated the quality and beauty of the Tikka wood stocks. I myself have a T3X in .308. The wood grain is beautifully visible because of the finish applied to the wood. The finish is really superior to other brands not only out of the box, but also how it handles scratches and dings. The weight and feel of the wood, feels great in your hands

I got my Tikka T3 308 SEVERAL years ago with the laminated stock and love the feel and the way it shoots even more today. This rifle will be passed down to my son when the Lord calls me home.

As much as I love the new rifles with synthetic stocks and camo patterns... this Hunter rifle is beautiful and reminds me of hunting with my dad and grandfather. Beautiful rifle!

I have a Tikka T3 .270 it’s the only firearm I own. Mine has a stainless barrel and synthetic stock. Using it in Victoria Australia for hunting Sambar deer. I’m no expert but I’m very happy with it.

Love the wood stocks ok the Tikkas. Currently trying to find the TX3 hunter with the stainless, fluted barrel in .308 and a decent scope. Would love to finally learn to hunt!

Picked mine up in March.. and grabbed three brands of factory ammo and hit the range. Winchester Ballistic Silver Tip - .55 inches at 100 yards Norma Whitetail Ammunition - .67 inches at 100 yards Hornady American Whitetail - 1.37 inches at 100 yards I've only fired sixteen shots so far.. yet I'm extremely impressed with this rifle. The only thing that I dislike is the lug design. If you purchase one I highly recommend that you disassemble it clean it and put it back together before shooting it. Make sure that you gentle tap the butt stock on the floor before you tighten the action. You'll hear a distinct click as the metal lug goes into the designed space. Other than that... It's one extremely accurate beautiful rifle!

I have just acquired and sighted in my Tikka t3x hunter in 6.5x55. I am very relieved and happy with this rifle. My Tikka t3 lite 308 was amazing also. May I ask your recommendations as to what product(s) to use to maintain the wood of the rifle please? Just last weekend ran to range with 7 boxes of various ammunition to find 'the load'. Briefly, three round groups only, continuous fire, sandbag atop a box, 100 yards; 1.0" for the S&B 131sp, Remington 140psp 1.5", HSM custom 140 berger 1 1/8", Federal Classic 140 2.5", PPU 139sp 2.5", Nosler custom accubond 4 rounds (because I could not see the third round) 7/8", and now the drumroll,,,,,,,,,,,,, Fiocchi 142 Sierra Match king 0.25". Yes, I am very pleased. I posted the groups to offer suggestions for any 6.5x55 owners that view your video. This rifle obviously does not appreciate MV less than 2600 fps besides other variables.

Birchwood Casey wax works amazing for wooden stocks. That's what I've been using for over twenty years. Pledge furniture polish also gives wooden stocks a nice shine.. but leaves a nice smell behind.

Great clip, Very interested to see your review on the Tikka T3X lite Veil Alpine. Also keen to have your input for big game more So a do it all rifle caliber, on the fence between the .308, 7mm magnum and the .300 win mag

.308 50-250 yards 7mm 200-500 yards .300 win mag 500-700 yards Those are flat shooting ranges for up to elk. Elk need 1,500# of pressure. 1,000# for deer. My general list above is for elk.

7mag is your best all around for blacktail whitetail muley and elk out to 500 yards with 25% less recoil than .308. I hunt with .308 in tight steep woods in a very light mountain rifle. I hunt 7mag for more open plains.

I was in the same dilemma contemplating different various options and settled for this same Tikka T3X Hunter in the 7mm-08 Remington chambering … it is ballistically a better performer than .308 Winchester, shoots flatter , less recoil , less wind drift , higher BC’s and SD’s and better retained down range energies. And if you hand load , you can really make this cartridge shine , not to mention there’s an awful lot of 7mm projectiles to choose from . But my favorite factory loads so far are the Hornady Superformance 139gr SST and 150gr ELD-X . Those two can handle elk out to 400 yard’s no problem, if you think you need something more than that , I’d go with a 7mm Mag or 300 WM , but the 7mm mag will outperform the 300 WM in all the same categories that the 7mm-08 outperforms the .308 😉 It’s all subjective to your hunting needs and skills .

I’m actually impressed that the engineers chose polymer for those specific parts. I say that as a Glock guy who understands how light yet indestructible that polymer is.
