I can change your mind on that. Come take a stroll in our 855 with a warratah 624b. The machine breaks down constantly and it is very well upkept. Only has 7,000 hrs. I'm pretty convinced its just a lemon though. 1 week and you would know what I mean.

I figure somethings just go without saying, there isnt a manufacturer out there that hasent got it wrong. Whether its a lemon or just random stuff. For me i have had less problems with tigercat overall then anything else i have ran. THAT IS MY OPINION SO TAKE IT FOR WHAT ITS WORTH. The old tigercat a run is better then are new one still a good machine thou few breakdowns

They are probably filming on a active logging crews job and said crew is testing the machine because they are looking at buying one. So Tigercat decided they wanted to shoot some footage of it working for a commercial is my guess.

well... its sounds like you folks up north are going to be shut out of the big timber sooner or later, so why invest in a massive dedicated use machine.

finally a yarder where you can actually see the bunch being picked upped. And not rely on a whistle to stop the machine or 1980s tech that outdated completely, its going to save lives' cost is up there but this is the future. Cameras all around and down time is right down with this machine its way over built and that's good.no more outhouses with a motor in it.

That would not yard the Old growth we worked in Camp Grisdale.

Lol it would fall over pulling New Zealand wood . Waste of time unless you’re in small piece size , even then it can only pull 1 or 2 at a time

that machine is bigger then you realize, the wood too for that matter. that linkbelt processor is a 92000# (41+ metric ton) machine, that yarder is bigger.

@@evil2rs how big do you think that wood is? keep in mind that link belt is 41 tons, that timber is likely well over 150' tall. its easy to poo poo when you've never set foot over here.

@@northmanlogging2769 lol wow 41 tons ... so a baby then .. yea 150 tall but only 50cm across at the butt. Try a madill 124 at 60 tons with 3 guy ropes , 600 meters to The backline machine and a mechanical grapple that opens to 3 meters, & will pull as much wood as it can grab .. this is a baby pulling baby wood , buy would work extremely well it the rite size wood and small settings.

I'm confused here, how does the haulback actually work on this thing? Only see one line going back to the carriage and it looks like the other fairlead is attached to the strawline drum or something?

just free spooling down the hill how most people operate around here. cheap acme grapple carriage is a new thing must have trouble finding Mexicans lol

@@ednepraunig1526 rog, haven't had much other than grapple yarders on the North Island since I broke in but used to working under those and a 009 so the haulback always runs back to the rigging. Does the haulback just run straight out to the tailhold and the main controls the carriage?

technically, they would be using the "skidding" line with the haulback being idle, down hill so you don't need to power the carriage out, and powered grapples so no need for the haulback to tension like mechanical "eagle" type grapples. if they were down hill yarding they could then use the haulback to drag the carriage up the hill, and act as a brake line for bringing the turn in.
