Tiger Woods' "Chippy" 5-wood out of the rough | TaylorMade Golf
Спорт
Greatest player of all time, 15-time major champion, and Team TaylorMade's Tiger Woods is here to put on a fairway wood clinic with Scottie Scheffler, Tommy Fleetwood, and Qi10 Fairway. They attack three different pins on the green from about 270 yards out with both 5-woods and 3-woods. Tommy plays his signature draw and Scottie hits a nice fade to show how these guys can hit different shots to the same pin location. #shorts

Ohhh how little you know about tour men in golf history 🤦♀️. First that come to mind are of course Ben Hogan, followed by at least 20 others who knew more about the swing and all types of shots than Tiger are folks like Lee Trevino, Gary Player, Sam Snead. It’s just that Tiger had a much more athletic, conditioned body. No one in the old days worked out in the gym except for Gary Player and he was considered quite an odd ball. I’m not much of a fan of Bryson DeChambeau but he obviously is a serious student of swing mechanics and physics.

Yep, the series he was doing just prior to his car crash was a real eye opener. He was playing with various amateurs and after a couple Of holes would just calmly give them something to help tweak their game. Small steps and gains. Very calm and clear in explaining to them. Can imagine him coaching easily but possibly on the quiet so that the pro does not get undue focus on them to perform to the top level just because tiger coaches them. Will be interesting to see if his son makes it to be a top pro (if he wants to of course)

TaylorMade seeing the big picture! Sponsoring great players is one thing, but getting great sponsored players to teach other, younger sponsored players is big brain corporate moves. Grow and then maintain the talent in your stable rather than trying to find the new hot thing every few yeas is super smart, and having Tiger there to do it is an incredible asset.

!969 USGA Junior qualifying. I came up with this very shot. On 17th hole I was 140 from the green ,could barely see the ball in deep rough. I didn't know what to do.I decided I could chop down on a 4 wood and thought I could carry it 100 yards and maybe it would roll to the green . It happened that way, 2 putted for par. Parred 18 and my 73 made me low qualifier.
I would be so nervous I would duff the shit out of it! 😂
