Well over there, you can see how much that they're quote on quote "fake" and how much they act like a different person sometimes. It's not their fault though since you have to fit into a certain mold to be liked; it's rare to see someone speak or act how they really genuinely feel and still be liked or followed the same. I mean, celebrities in Korea can't even cuss without it getting bleeped or show their tattoos without them getting blurred out. I get it though since it's their culture and every country has different ways of respect and morals but you can really tell the difference between the U.S and Korea. I know I'm just stating the U.S in this example but I was born and raised in Cali my entire life and it was pretty shocking when I got into k-pop and started learning about their culture and their celebrity circuit around 2011. It's of course culture-shock but just looking at the way artists act in Korea and the way the artists act here in the U.S is mind-boggling. The U.S doesn't have restrictions such as Korea does; not being able to choose the songs YOU'RE going to be singing, not being able to speak what's on YOUR mind truthfully, not being able to decide what music YOU want to make or release, etc. The list can go on...

Jeehoon Hyun I totally relate. I’m a Chinese American, and when I speak Chinese, since it’s usually to my parents or their friends, I’m a lot more polite than when I speak English, which is usually to my friends and stuff.

Compared to some artists, I don't think Tiffany acts that much differently. You can still tell it's her, and it just feels more like the show direction is run differently rather than she herself acting like a different person. To all the Americans here you are watching music royalty, she is part of one of the most successful groups in the history of music and THE most successful group in all of K Pop Girl's Generation/SNSD (Which is now Oh! GG and currently their video is nearly at 40 million views even after more than 10 years as a group). Only the Spice Girls and Destiny's Child sold more as a girl group and that is because Girl's Generation/SNSD single handedly made K Pop global.. thought in my opinion, being a huge fan of Hip Hop and R&B, Girl's Generation runs circles around those groups in terms of talent and the hard work that they had to do since they were teenagers. Look up the training regimen of these K Pop groups and your jaw will drop at how hard they work from young ages. Anyway we fans are called SONE so if you want to get into the music it's never too late :)

Jessica?? She was born and raised in California as well (born in the same hospital as Tiffany), except her Korean was better than Tiffany's so she wasn't the butt of every language joke. Jessica speaks English well.

Katya Skullcrusher Tiffany's reputation in Korea tanked due to a controversy involving a social media post depicting the imperial Japanese flag. Korean people don't play when it comes to that stuff, and she doesn't really have a chance of working there successfully anymore. She went back to her home America to work there, but I think she would have preferred to stay in Korea where the majority of (what's left of) her fanbase is. I don't hate Tiffany, I like her a lot, but it's pretty clear that she was forced out of Korea as long as she wants to keep working as a public figure.

I love Tiffany! She’s always been my bias from SNSD. Her positive attitude is so contagious. And don’t get me started on her smile. Keep slaying Tiffany! 😃

Haven‘t seen Tiffany in a long time (since I’ve stopped following SNSD years ago). She was my favorite and still is :)

I used to be one of those snsd fans who got annoyed by tiffany... she just too much . . but it all change when l went to snsd concert... i realized l misunderstood her personality, gesture, intention right during that concert . . .lets say it was one of the unorganized and very hot like literal hot concert • eventho the members did their best to perform amidst all those mess but still you can see some lacking,grudge in their face and movement . . all but tiffany...she's the brightest of them all...singing, dancing, joking even waving with all her heart...she just really passionate about everything she does. . .

Honestly, most of them aren't even mistakes, as much as I love korea, there's some pretty bad stuff too like everywhere else, the amount of hate that just oozes there from the internet cause they can hide behind the screen is pretty overwhelming. They have the highest suicide rates in the world, that tells a lot.

I argree that she was bashed too harsh for her mistake but this kind of comments are just so insensitive. If a jewish star uploaded a german flag emoji on their memorial day and left that post to be for hours even though fans warned her countinuously things wouldnt have been so different.

1. She did not know about it and she did not check. 2. She deleted it right after realizing it (after about 1 min) 3. She apologizes right away with handwritten note afterwards. 4. That rising flag filter design appears automatically and cannot be change or resize. Its based of your current location. 5. Afterwards SONEs went to blast snapchat and snapchat removed that design The end.
