I agree. How could she not know that he was depressed? He lost 2 important people in his life within weeks of each other. I could tell from the ride in the car that he was in anguish. I hate that people don’t understand that men have feelings as well and can take loss of loved ones just as hard as women. We as wives need to be there emotionally for our husbands. They deserve and need that.

@@hevel4383I agree. People in these comments have immense empathy for him, but basically none for the wife. She may be less knowledgeable about depression, but she also has the full emotional weight of the miscarriage, caregiving for two children under age 2, a service profession with clients to serve, a strained father-stepdaughter relationship, custody litigation regarding that child, and an emotionally unavailable spouse. Both of these people deserve empathy and support.

@@LawFirmMentor Yes, I agree some does not have as much empathy for her as they did for him. They both are grieving, but it shows up differently. Despite, the day to day task they both are faced with, they both see that each need their own counseling to address their own issues and then they both can show up as the best version of themselves.

It definitely does. And when that happens you need supportive people around you that will be there for you when you’re grieving. Not people that tell you to man up, you’re not acting the same, you still crying etc. I don’t get why people don’t understand this. Also, the circumstances in which a loved one dies makes a difference. My Grandmother died in 2022. She was 88 years old. I think of and miss her everyday, but I was at peace because she was 88, she deserved her rest. My mom died in 2023 from stage four uterine cancer. I watched her die a little every day. The last few days of her life were very traumatic. So I’m not grieving the same. It’s very very hard to go on each day. My anxiety and depression are through the roof. I have to make a decision to lean on God everyday just to keep on keeping on.

I don't care for placing the blame of a strained father daughter relationship on the child. She's 14! Stay in a place of love and understanding for her...she's is and was a child throughout the whole process. But I'm glad they are in a place of learning and growing. ❤

This episode was a rollercoaster of emotions. I truly hope they work on themselves individually first and foremost . I commend them for putting their lives out there in this way because we don’t talk about grief depression and anxiety as Black people enough even with all the progress we ve made with talking about mental health over the years . I like how the therapist never missed an opportunity to correct and call out things out for what they are .
