Did I miss something? I’m at 10:04 and not a word…no idea what is happening except a bunch of laundry detergent spilling between hands-I’m assuming to break up the lumps. I’m not trying to be a jerk, but did I miss a recipe, or instructions, or just something to know what is taking place???. I’ve never seen this before and am quite curious…

I’ll try to reply. It’s an ASMR video, an acronym for autonomous sensory meridian response, a relaxing sensation triggered by sights and sounds. Some describe it as giving you tingles down the back of the neck and spine. That’s why she was slowly pouring out the powdered detergent and essentially playing with it before making a laundry paste. It’s called powder play. Viewers like myself watch to ease stress, anxiety and relax, particularly at night to get to sleep. I like that her paste can actually be used for laundry. Some ASMR video creators make pastes that are left to harden and crumble for more paste making. A lot of people, I’ll speak for myself, love the scent and feel of soap. It’s a craving I’ve had all my life from iron deficiency. It’s called pica and can be a craving for other odd things, even chalk, gravel, dirt. Some with pica actually eat what they crave. I don’t, I just love the smell and texture of soaps and watching creative videos on them. I’ve started making my own videos too and find it stress relieving. I’ve had questions too about what I’m doing and don’t mind explaining. There’s so much stress in the world today, it’s great to have this outlet.
