I noticed that ever since critrole became its own channel, the views on most of the other shows dropped, and the older ones with wil wheaton have a high viewership than these newer ones

@@artygunnar honestly, the reason I don't watch many shows from geek and sundry is because I just don't have the time. Many of the shows are pretty lengthy. The star trek DnD show and game the game seem pretty decent from what I've seen, though.

This board game would be perfect as something like a Saturday morning cartoon. The four protagonists learn about teamwork and co-operation while training to become a Tidal Blade.

The art style of the game is so neat! i love the looks of it. It also seems fun, what a tandem!

The competion between Stef and Becca is the best.

This is still one of your best lets plays ever. Great cast of characters with great chemistry, great game. More like this please.

The more I see of this, the more I'm happy I backed it. I'm definitely excited by the thought of a dice tray. One thing this video shows me is that when everyone knows how the game works, that it moves pretty quickly. And it seems pretty forgiving with the dice -- it's not about the rolls themselves, but how/when to use dice. So cool!

Looks like a great game! I'm going to back on KS for sure. One comment I'd make on the video....I think i like the format of having the full rules at the beginning instead of jumping to videos all the way through. It lets people who know the rules skip the intro rules sections and just enjoy the gameplay! Either way I enjoy watching you guys!

I prefer having the rules in one lump too, but for a different reason: It can make any audio level differences less jarring if the volume only changes twice.

The problem is when the rules sections gets too long people start getting lost and forgetting things. She only splits the rules up when they're either very long or very complex. Also, if you already know the rules, that's what the -> arrow button is for, it skips the video ahead by 5 seconds per click so I find clicking it a few times is easier than scrubbing through the timebar with your mouse trying to find where the break is.

Looks like it has a lot of character and a modest amount of replay-ability. Far too many pieces though, lose a few of them and could be rough to play. Also far too complex to just jump into it, the chance of playing wrong is very high with all the things going on. I think this would make a fantastic digital game like Armello, I really hope the devs think about that. Being able to play board games online with other people is amazing.

I can't resist anything with Becca and Matt in it, nobody could if they're human, this video should be classified as a schedule 1 drug!

Always great to see Matt and we've missed Stef so much! This was awesome, and a really great ending as well. :)

This is honestly one of your best episodes. The Chemistry was amazing.

I love this game so much. I've had the chance to play Tidal Blades 3 times with one of the game designers and it's been a blast each time! The first time I played it over a year ago, it was just printer paper and a bunch of borrowed borrowed meeples. My friend and I were shocked how much we loved the gameplay when it was in such a rudimentary stage. It's been so neat watching the development of it. I loved seeing other people I think are awesome enjoying it also (especially Matt-critter here)! I can't wait until this is released! As a D&Der, I think I just love rolling dice.

Awesome people playing! Becca Scott is just as entertain when she is doing bad as she is when she is doing good lol.

I hope the audience enjoys this stuff! The game looks sweet, and who doesn't love Mercer??? Becca is a decent host, and the production crew is knocking it out of the park...But this just isn't Table Top. It's completely subjective, and you're all allowed to disagree, just like I'm sure some people love Sushi, BASE Jumping, or Crocs. This episode has shown me something about myself, so I don't want anybody thinking I'm shitting on the show. It has almost everything I could've asked for; but Wil Wheton, and the energy he brought to this style of content is what brought me to G&S(along with the Guild) and rekindled my childhood love of playing games down at the FLGS. So for me, whether it's the music, or the pacing, or the last bits of bitterness over the G&S/Alpha transition, Game the Game hasn't been able to convert my viewership. But you get my like, my engagement and some sponsor $ for the view count!

It's gotta be hard to design a game. Too simple and people will quickly get bored with it. Too complicated and people won't want to put the effort into learning it.

It's not even that simple, you've got to design 2 distinct complexity curves; one across the first game so that it eases players in to using more complicated rules, and one across multiple games as players get more familiar with the rules and plumb the depths of the system.

I enjoyed watching and the game looks fun!

I believe it's recommended to keep all your energy disks under your character standee/mini, and thus when you move, you're just leaving a trail of disks under you (and also you get to see the color/disks under your clear stand.)

This looks like a fun time! I just scored a returned copy on Amazon for $27.97 after tax! Not deluxe but who cares...I.have a 3D printer anyways if I want to design things in CAD and make them later.

I played this at Rose City ComiCon in PDX....so much fun!

It's actually rather intuitive/simple once you learn, I rather like that about it (has depth, without too much complexity.)

The pen she is using is one of the best. It is one of those that glides smoothly on the paper and creates beautiful strokes and the opposite end is a highlighter but it looks like a crayon

This is the retail version. The deluxe version adds miniatures, 3D shells and fruit, an art book, and the dice tray that James mentioned.

I thought from another playthrough video it was explained if you want to go on an island where all the spots have been taken, you can still do it just to complete the challenges? but you don't get the other extra benefit of those spots as they are all taken?

Yes, that's in the rule book.

1:17:12 I love this part.

They forgot to do the 1st/2nd place bonus on the Champion Board, no? Also, you CAN go to an island even if all the spots are taken, you get the location bonus and can do challenges (just no reward for spots.)

This was a hoot and a half.

I feel like it would be better if the location of the judge was random and found out at the end of the round. And there could be cards that let the player control where the judge is at the end. Thematically: the judge roams randomly to prevent people from faking it for him, but you can get leaked information to know where hes going

As nice as this game looks, it seems like each new component and rule was added to fix an existing thing. Like, instead of rebalancing the ideas that were really strong and fun, they'd add a new stack of cards or a new just-in-case condition. I'm really interested in trying it out and I hope it's much more cohesive in person.

Would it have been too obvious and cheesy to name the axolotl character Axl instead?

That should say "scores are tabulated" and it really bothers me that it doesn't. Not just the lack of pluralization of "score" but also the fact that "tabuled" is not a word, and ALSO that nobody caught either mistake.
