They are symbolically showing the cycle of the Soul we exist in...during each 26,000 year cycle Mankind will express his intellect and emotions through art, literature, music and architecture only for it to be erased at the end of each cycle to begin anew again.

That seems like a bit of a stretch and I don't buy it. I don't know why we have to add unprovable detail onto such a fundamental philosophical concept. On a smaller scale, for example: even our individual lives are essentially sand mandalas. Why needlessly complicate the philosophy? I guess you couldn't help it. I don't know why I'm writing a reply to this either, I'm actually just arguing with myself.
