We had a Briard and the care/trimming was high-end. We fell in love with the Tibet Terrier breed, it perfectly matches our wishes but we have concerns regarding the complexity/effort of fur care ? Dr. Google says the fur should never be shaved due to airconditioning-function in summer/winter ? Would you be so kind to share your experiences with this wonderful breed. Many thanks Udo

Hi Obi Wan Kenobi, Yes, the coat protects! Yes grooming should be done as the dog will become matted. Please brush the puppy early, even if he has No fur! So that the puppy gets used to the brush. But if you trim your tibi's coat, you should also dress the dog in winter/cold or in rain/autumn. And avoid the hot asphalt in summer, don't let the dogs paws burn!

@@DiPanKara55 many thanks ❤️ means i can trim but need to make sure the doggy is protected ? No problem, can handle this. Would trim down to 1 inch late spring so the doggy don't suffer summer-heat and fur can re-grow for winter. If in winter still not enough long, i add protection on top. Would you consider this to be appropriate for this breed ? Really appreciate that you share your experience.

1 inch is almost too short, the Tibi can get sunburned and you shouldn't forget the undercoat. A little more fur is nicer and it still resembles a Tibi. However, the coat should still be brushed, the shorter coat makes it easier!

They behave in car very good. Only when they see another dog, they are barking :)
