Tibet Talks: The Dalai Lama and the Preservation of Tibetan Culture
Special Guest: Mr. Tenzin Namgyal Tethong
As a Tibetan, the Dalai Lama is the focus of the Tibetan people’s hopes and aspirations both inside Tibet and in exile. He is committed to endeavoring to preserve the Tibetan language and culture while also speaking up for Tibet's environment. His Holiness often refers to himself as an independent spokesperson for Tibetan people, and he has put forward the Middle Way Approach to peacefully resolve the Tibet-China conflict.
In our third episode on His Holiness’ Four Principal Commitments, we’ll discuss his efforts to preserve Tibetan culture and strive for Tibet’s cause with Tenzin Namgyal Tethong, His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Representative to North America (1973-86), former Kalon Tripa (Minister and Chair of the Cabinet) of the Central Tibetan Administration, as well as the founding President of ICT.

Much respect to Tethong la but while he talks about middle way I have heard his son talks about independence. Also most Tibetan parents who are extremely passionate abt Tibetan cause to contrary their own kids can’t speak Tibetan language.

All these so called aristocrats hate the Central Tibetan Administration that’s run by common people so these people will stand against anything that CTA stands for. So I don’t believe this guy is genuinely for middle way approach. Thank god we have a true leader like the Dalai Lama who broke us away from the shackles of elitism and gave us democracy so we can forge our own path.
Altan Khan is the one who invited 3rd Dalai Lama into Mongol and revived the declining Tibetan Buddhism that already introduced by Great Sakya Pandita in 13th century. What Mongol Khan did was simply translated Tibetan word” རྒྱ་མཚོ” ocean into Mongolian.
