中国从来没有被外敌从西边入侵而征服过。主要是地理原因，从河中往东到伊犁，到哈密，到敦煌，到河西走廊一路几千里都是戈壁沙漠，只有零星的地方有水源和补给，所以中国只要用很少的人马守住沿途的几个关隘，对方进攻的人越多就越难持久

元朝有很多重名。很多的铁木耳可能是因为对金属的崇拜，以及对成吉思汗铁木真的崇拜。
