    Wow, I did not expect such an honest and in-depth look at their gear. Either they are very open an don't give many fucks, or some how you made them very comfortable to the point that he is talking about using Seymour Duncans while being endorsed by Dimarzio lmao And he then goes on about how they are Mesa Boogie endorsers yet they are using Kempers haha love this dude! Really loved the pickup talk. My inner gear nerd is pleased.

    Though i don't listen to deathcore this is one of the best gear run downs I've ever seen. My respect to Andy for such an honest review. Looks like he's as big a gear nerd as many of us watching on youtube. Props for trying out seymour duncans and EMG's while being past dimarzio fans. I've been a die hard Dimarzio fan for the past 22 years and the Seymour Duncan nazguls and sentients are some of freshest sounding pups i've heard in years. Also, the SR5005 Ibanez bass is one of the best basses I've ever owned, too bad that bass doesn't get more exposure.

    ESP Japan is perfection. I've owned Prestiges and ESP's and I can honestly tell you that the guitars ESP build in the Japanese custom shop is bar none the most flawless guitars I have ever played or owned. They are typically more expensive than Prestiges but they are worth the extra money. My ESP Horizon NT2 was $1,800...the most expensive Prestige that I had bought was $1,500. Prestiges are definetly amazing guitars though and those guitars are what turned me into a "Japanese built" or nothing kind of player. I dont know what it is about the Japanese but they take so much time and effort into every little detail building their guitars whether it be Ibanez or ESP.

    Alder Ladybius It's usually not possible with the constraints we have when filming these episodes. There usually isn't a lot of time to make them happen, so we do as much as possible with the time we have. Also, a lot of times there are noise constraints as well. Some episodes do have the band playing through their amps, but it isn't very often unfortunately.

    Unfortunately, the drummer wasn't available to join us for this and Andy mainly had knowledge of the rest of the guy's gear, since he had a hand in piecing everything together.

    Looms = Cables? haha

  • @digitaltourbus

    @digitaltourbus

    8 жыл бұрын

    I believe that a loom is when you put a bunch of cables into the same line to make it easier to run and not as messy.

  • @BTPA_USA

    @BTPA_USA

    8 жыл бұрын

    Yep! A loom is encasing various sorts of cables in Expando sleeve for easier setup/teardown and stage footprint. Using a loom allows you to use actual speaker cable, actual guitar cable, etc. thus keeping the signal in tact - most of the time better for sound than the one-size-fits-all snake cable options out there.

    The RGIX27FE-QMTG only has two numbers in it's name though. A JCM 900, that's harsh (well, except if it was a SL-X) :P I'm pretty sure I saw them using Diezels on one tour and 6505s and AxeFxs on others, maybe those were 'decet' rentals haha. I also rembmber Andy's nice-but-kinda-big Pedalboard, but I guess it really makes a difference in touring cots, reliability and convenience.

    Yeah, Kempers are a good choice for bands that tour the world on somewhat of a budget. They are expensive upfront and you lose a bit of the live feel, but the cost and convenience are a huge plus.

    Sorry! We try to get everyone, but these videos are filmed under pretty enormous time constraints and sometimes not all members are available. We do have a video with Mike Portnoy that will be released in the near future though and he has a sick drum kit! Also, a lot of our other videos feature drums, so make sure you check those out!

    I use to have a bass with bartolini pickups in it running through two ampeg svt pro's 1600 watts per head into 2 4x8 cabs and the bass sounded horrible it had no volume i spoke to Bill Bartolini at the NAMM show and he took my bass and had it for well over a month charged me for shipping and it sounded exactly the same no power and really thin. I ended up with 2 ibanez basses that sounded incredible. I will never use a bartolini product ever again.
