Will it help mix music?
I had a Dragonfly Red (cobalt) and thought it was great until I got an Onyx for a birthday present and holy cow, did it clean up the sound. The cobalt didn't even come close to the clarity and the detail of the Onyx. Plus, the cobalt had trouble with my DSD/DSF files where the Onyx made them sparkle.
One thing to keep in mind is if your listening on cheapo earbuds this would be wasted.

Asus Rog Clavis has the same chipset but cheaper. Would you say they are the same?

Wish I could weigh in as I have not tried the Asus. Maybe someone else here has thoughts?
I listen to music at work using Qobuz 24 bit 192kHz downloads on my phone. 300 watt Amp. some albums need more power Amp. Michael Jackson Thriller for example. It definitely needs a 500 watt or 700 watt amp.

*Durability is bad on this device* I've had two devices with THX linear amplification in them, the Onyx and Fiio Q3. Both have ended up blowing out and the treble ended up absolutely horrenduous sounding. Just get an Apple dongle or Schiit Fulla 3 for gaming, both are cheaper and 99% of people won't ever tell the difference.
