It’s my cheapest pair of boots. I have 13 pairs of boots 3 being Thursday, and the rest @sons trading, red wing, thorogood, Danner, Allen Ed, and a few others But Thursday is the pairs I grab 50-60% of the time. Thursday are beautifully made , reasonably priced and good enough for anyone no matter their shoe game. Such a good boot you got

Nice boots. Maybe second hand isn't such a bad idea. Ever tried Uniters Oleosa cream? It's made to disappear pull-up marks but I use it to make rubbing away future scratches easier. Keeps most water away, too. Cheers.

Thanks so much for watching! Most leather shoes and boots just need some cleaning and conditioning. It's crazy what people throw away. I've never tried Uniters Oleosa cream, but I just looked them up. Really cool! I don't usually have any problems removing pull-up marks as long as I gently warm up the leather and massage in any brand of conditioner. I'm glad you found a product that works for you! Every video on the rugged and resiliant leather line Thursday boots adviced minimal cear and to not use sadle soap becous it can ruin the leather. It's advertised as condition free leather after all but these don't look ruind at all. Maybe I should do same procedure with mine pair in black mate leather now I wonder how would they look.

Black boots can definitely hide the most dirt, but they still need to be cleaned and conditioned regularly just like any other leather. I highly suggest NOT using saddle soap on your leather due to the pH balance (it can ruin your leather over time). I suggest you follow this video, and depending on how dirty your boots are, they'll look great after! Thanks so much for watching.

The front of my rugged and resilient Thursday boots has gone quite dry when compared to the less weathered sides of the boots. Is there a way to restore this without changing the leather too much? Thanks for videos, great content.

Hey friend! Dryness on the front of your boots is definitely normal since it's the forefront and gets the brunt of the dirt, dust, and debris (which leads to excessive dryness). My suggestion would be to thinly layer conditioner on the dryer parts of your leather and wait for it to dry in between layers in order to try to obtain a uniform color. This way, you won't be changing the leather too much. Just remember not to add too much conditioner too soon. On top of that, you may benefit from using an oil or fat based conditioner like mink oil or the ShoeMGK cream I used. Ultimately up to you! Let me know your thoughts.

This is really an educational video. Thanks. I own a pair of Thursday Arizona Adobe boots and they don't recommend creams or much cleaning at all for that matter. But mine look very much like yours in the video and I'm one for trying to protect and take care of my boots. Can I follow this video, light MKG cream and all, on my Arizona Adobe's? What do you think?

Thanks so much for watching. I hope you can learn something! This is just my opinion, but all leather at some point will need to be cleaned and conditioned at some point if you desire for them to last long. Any brand that says to never clean or condition your leather is misleading. The amount and frequency you do so is completely relative to how much you wear your boots, but still, it should be well kept and conditioned at least once a year, if not quarterly. I'd suggest using this video on your Arizona Adobes, just note that doing so may slightly alter the color, but it's better than keeping your boots looking old and dirty. I hope that helps!

Thanks for the video! I am on my first pair of Thursday's. Had them just over a year. Wear them daily. I've cleaned them 3-4 times at this point using products made for leather boots. But dear god do the bleed black dye like a stuck hog still!!! Some of the dye almost looks like it's fading a bit. Have run into this issue with their products? I've never had a boot bleed like these before. TIA!

You're super welcome! I also have a pair of black Captain thursday boots, and yeah, they can definitely bleed, especially if you use a harsher leather cleaner. Sometimes it's the leather, sometimes it's the cleaner. A good solution is using a product called bick 4. You can rub it on your boots to hydrate it, and wipe of the excess to clean it and it shouldn't bleed too much. Never had that issue with ShoeMGK unless I really work the cleaner into the black leather. It is also a stain remover, so it does bleed some leather if you don't know how to use it properly. Its wild to me to see that your boots have no creases above the cap toe. Mine creased significantly within days.

Honestly, it really depends on these factors: what type of leather, how often you bend down (crease your boots), how often you hydrate your leather, and most importantly (if you use shoe trees after each wear). What would you say for your boots?

@@evumies I'm guessing they maybe needed a bit of hydration right away since as I said, they created very visibly within the first week. That being said I definitely could hydrate them more and I don't use shoe trees.

@@RavenWindrunner Yeah, properly hydrating your boots is important. However, when it comes to creases, shoe trees [after each use] are definitely going to be the thing to prevent those wrinkles. It's a sad day when people throw out their footwear due to lack of care. Thankfully, leather is so resilient that oftentimes they can be restored!

Leather conditioner and leather cream is the same ?

That's a great question. So leather conditioner is an overall term for oils, waxes, etc. that conditioner leather. Leather cream is one form of a leather conditioner. So when I advise to conditioner your leather, you can use leather cream, wax, oils, balms, and more. Virtually all do similar things, but vary slightly. For example, a product like Bick 4 claims not to darken leather, however, something like a Mink Oil balm will most definitely darken your leather. I hope that makes sense! What color are these boots? they look too light to be "burnt Copper".

Hey friend. I do believe they are burnt copper, however, due to the dryness or cleaning off the original manufactured patina, it may vary slightly in color. Though, it could be a variant of an older model. Not exactly sure. Let me know if you know anything else!

By the way, why did you wash them with cleaner? I bet , you'd get same result if you simply brushed them and conditioned

The reason I washed them with cleaner first is because it removes all of the dust and micro particles that can get stuck in the pores of the leather. If I were to brush it, it wouldn't remove all of the debris. If I just brushed and conditioned it, it could lead to caking the leather over time, which would reduce the breathability and longevity of the leather. This is my reason, but you may have your own process. Hope that helps!

Spray-on water repelents are, to be frank, sh*t. If you need water resistant boot, just use hot waxes. Works like a charm, but of course, darkens the leather.

Hey friend! I value your opinion! They are a quick go-to as needed and they work well for things like sneakers because you can't use hot waxes on them. So it's better for an overall footwear fix. I would rather have one pair of $600 boots than 3 pair of $200 Thursdays. Long term you are not making a good investment.

Though, I will say that not everyone can afford $600 boots, and even $200 is stretching it for some people's budget, but nonetheless, I can agree that investing in quality boots for the long run is the best investment. Boots aren't generally something most people think of as an investment strategy though. Are you talking about the PNW boot makers? If so I'd say a vastly different market and target audience; and for some, variety is the spice of life. I collect watches, and at various points in my collecting I've gone both ways. I've had over 200 watches, and I've had 6. It's nice being able to switch it up when the mood strikes, and it's also awesome to be a one watch person too. Different strokes for different folks applies here I think.

@@dubester1982 Honestly, most people don't consider most things as an investment, but that's what I'm trying to share on my channel. Everything that takes time or money is an investment because it shapes who we are at the end of the day. Yeah, PNW boot makers, white's, nick's, etc. Which ones do you own? I do have to say that those boots aren't the normal fashion these days, which I'm sure you're touching at. I appreciate the way you think, my friend! Minimalism is best in my opinion because it allows you to be grateful for what you own, and provides more time for you to take care of what you own rather than run out of time to care for them all.
