‘Last One Out Turn Off The Lights’ is taken from Thunder’s new album ‘All The Right Noises’. Which will be released on 12th March 2021 on BMG. The line up on this album is Luke Morley, Danny Bowes, Chris Childs, Ben Matthews and Harry James. The record was recorded at Rockfield Studios and mixed by Mike Fraser.
Lyrics
Shut up, I can’t stand another word, another lie
Four years you been banging on and on, I don’t know why
You’re the keepers of the keys, cos we trusted you to know
Then you turn around and ask us which way should I go?
Just like thieves, you got your fingers in the till
Nobody's watching while we’re sliding down the hill
Last one out turn off the lights, last one out turn off the lights
Last one out turn off the lights, turn off the lights
You said there’d be everything we need to make it right
You promised us the moon and stars if we only cut the ties
Why can’t you face the fact that you might’ve got it wrong
We’ve been running round and round and round this thing so long
Across the other side they’re sitting on the fence
Where are the leaders? There’s no-one talking sense
Last one out turn off the lights, last one out turn off the lights
Last one out turn off the lights, turn off the lights
Last one out turn off the lights, last one out turn off the lights
Last one out turn off the lights, turn off the lights
This land has broken down
Torn apart by ignorance
Why don’t we take the last plane out
And fly away
Across the other side they’re sitting on the fence
Where are the leaders? There’s no-one talking sense
Last one out turn off the lights, last one out turn off the lights
Last one out turn off the lights, turn off the lights
Last one out turn off the lights, last one out turn off the lights
Last one out turn off the lights, turn off the lights
Last one out turn off the lights, last one out turn off the lights
Last one out turn off the lights, turn off the lights
Last one out turn off the lights, last one out turn off the lights
Last one out turn off the lights, turn off the lights

Totally agree; my theory is the 'big' bands you mention built up a huge fanbase before things got a lot more difficult post grunge/funk metal when rock fans seemed to rely on the old guard through nostalgia or start listening to new bands that didn't have that 'classic' rock approach.

Actually, it was a similar story on Clapham Common a few years ago where Thunder were magnificent. Bonamassa was pretty good, too. By the time Aerosmith came on I was so ripped to the tits I didn’t care, lol.

"All The Right Noises" is a return to the full-throttle sound of Thunder that has seen them create a hugely successful 30-plus-year career at the forefront of British rock, all built around the lifelong friendship of vocalist extraordinaire Danny Bowes and songwriting genius and guitarist Luke Morley. "All The Right Noises" is an intense confection of illicit charms that reasserts their authority as the number one band in the land. With a set of melodic blues-rock songs, a couple heavier, a couple of ballads, and with lyrics that are always worth really listening to! We get some echoes of classic Thunder tracks, and we get a couple of eye-opening variations on the theme that prove the band has certainly not rested on any laurels or stuck to a formula. Recorded in the months leading up to the first Covid-19 lockdown, it was originally due for release in September 2020. Strange to reflect then on how much of the new material appears to address the challenging new world we now inhabit. But it is interesting how if you look at some of the tracks through the prism of Covid, they still make a lot of sense. The volcanic lead single from the album, "Last One Out Turn Off The Lights", could easily be mistaken for world-ending lockdown rage. But it’s about Brexit, but you could apply it to everything else." The track is indicative of both the ferocity and message of the album as a whole, with subjects tackled including depression, mental health, and diversity. The LP versions feature a stunning pop-out of the "Singing Ringing Tree", which appears on the album's glorious artwork. The photo cover art was shot by the band's long-term collaborator Jason Joyce. The sculpture, which also appears in this video "Last One Out Turn Off The Lights", is set in Burnley, Lancashire, and resembles a tree which harnesses the energy of the wind to create a choral, discordant sound. With their most recent success, Thunder have proven themselves as vital now as when they emerged in 1990. @@jackphilips9526 Actually, they were. There are some unreleased/unknown cd's that thunder released. Self titled cd, 'Thunder' came out in 1980, 'Headphones for cows' 1981 and then there was a bit of a gap until Backstreet symphony came out in 1990.

@@williamjamesayers7719 However.... you are talking absolute nonsense. I had an album by a band called Terraplane in about 87 when I was a kid and I remember that band becoming Thunder in 1989 and they released BSS in 1990.
