Little fun fact: Scorej-Oni is read as "Scorejioni" (with "ji", not "ee"). In Italian it's an adjective used to describe people that tends to fart a lot.

try it with the cursed sword instead of a 2nd lightning ring. the idea is he shoots lightning whenever he takes damage, and the cursed sword damages him every time it attacks. it’s fun seeing so much lightning and shredding guardians, but eventually enemies get knocked back due to the lightning rings not scaling. i’ll try with a freezing 2nd weapon next time, that stops enemies from just getting knocked back

nah, just banish every weapon with silent old sanctuary. edit: Plus you get more banishes from the shopkeeper if you use those you have naturally before buying anything. (due to the 20 cap in your inventory for purchasing them)

Huh, that's an interesting idea. I made a build a while ago that only works on tiny bridge, it uses a candybox turbo to get lightning loop before you get the lightning ring pickup so you have both at once. I had laurel as my third weapon just so I could survive, but maybe I should try doing it again with the muramasa instead.

I absolutely love charm, but it makes Curse a bit redundant, because Charm already takes care of the huge increase in enemies and at that point, Curse is not worth the struggle it causes (e.g. making enemies unkillable). So I may actually consider dropping Wicked Season, but it gives a ginormous XP boost...

Fun fact, The game was made by an Italian dude and the name of this character essentially means "HUGE FARTS"

Lightning Ring and Twilight Requiem? Why is no one talking about this, its a devastating combo.

DEX bro, have you tried Scorej-Oni but only with the Muramasa? That thing is disgustungly satisfying.

Tried this today on the new dlc map, the one with the mushroom town. Picked explosions for lightning ring instead of the improved cooldown when moving, so my dps was actually higher. However... died at minute 28. The enemies just cover the entire screen and there's nothing you can do.

That's an interesting question. In general having 2 weapons would make you weaker then just 1 I guess, especially if you use the Sanctuary arcana. @@StephenOwen I guess something like Wand with freeze combined with something else like Runetracer with freeze? Stuff that shares arcana cards. Whatever is on the crit card, Whip/Axe/Shurikens The last 2 minutes of that map is harsh, I'm really not sure about this.

How do you stop the ring from evolving? Very cool video. Trying to learn how you make these runs work

I would say I have a good computer, but Vampire Survivors has different issues that are not really tied to computer performance. E.g. my Laptop I had before upgrading actually performed better in Vampire Survivors lol

With the max gold on eggs in moongolow now trouser farming at 500k+ eggs is fun. Its a game of finding the best power to lag ratio. Laurel without limit break and blood astronomia then grab soul eater from red candy box and it can carry inverse endless all night. All the gold comes from coin bags on level up, I'm at nearly 10m gold a second.

I also use Trouser on Moongolow but mine has 260k plus Golden Eggs now. I use Greatest Jubilee as my first weapon from his Candy Box he starts with and add Soul Eater later if I can get a chest to open which doesn't happen most runs due to how insanely fast I'm gaining gold and leveling. I start the run with Wicked Season, run immediately to the Merchant and grab Disco of Gold then just stand their and max level Greatest Jubilee and pick Random Always once it's max level. I set the stage up with every single box checked all stage modifiers enabled. So far I'm up to 150 million plus Gold per 30 minutes ingame. The lag isn't to bad but it is there of course. If you have 500k+ Eggs I promise you, you can do the same thing with a little lower Gold per 30 mins but after letting it run overnight once just go back to Moongolow and go to the Egg Merchant in the North and hit buy all. Bad thing is it isn't any faster than using an auto-clicker it just means you don't need one. Your character will still stand there and buy the eggs one at a time but at a much faster rate than you can click. My last farm was around 9 hrs in game clock and netted me 9.5 Billion Gold. So until I decide to experiment with Eggs again I've got more then enough Gold. I don't know if you've found the big Shadow of Avatar that's on the Moongolow stage to the South of the Merchant yet but if not you can fix your speed there. He'll offer to remove all Golden Eggs related to speed stat and only those Eggs once the stat is high enough but until it's high that service isn't offered. I know that 500 speed was still to low but once I hit 1200 it was offered. That was an awesome addition to the game by the Dev because I really, really hated trying to control super speed characters, (I know I could do it by tabbing but it was still a pain). Good luck with your farming, I have over 1600+ hrs, (with only maybe a couple hundred of those hours being AFK), in the game now and have spent the last few months experimenting with Gold Farming. The setup I described for you above is by far the best I've found to date and Moongolow is by far the best Gold Farming Stage. If you want to when the Merchant re-appears and you can buy another card you can pick up Saraband of Healing for a ton of added damage that introduces absolutely no lag, unlike Blood Astromo which does add lag. Anyway, Happy Farming...

Jubilee causes insane lag at higher eggs, I was using it until I switched and saw just how much faster it can go mixing it up, first I switched to saraband of healing but then even that started to lag. Blood astronomia ended up working out really well, possibly because it soft caps and soul eater scales it's damage but caps out on attack speed. I think utilising the caps on specific weapons is what stops the game from crashing.

@@PastorwithoutaPulpit its faster than a auto clicker because you can instantly exit, you don't need to wait for the animation to finnish. The fun is its down to people to experiment on their own when they get too super end game as each new batch of eggs creates new opportunities or problems. I Farm bonezone, dairy plant might be viable now we can banish drops.

If sealing was a thing then that could be the case. (Essentially banishment before the game starts) but I could be wrong.

@@thetester755 Seal is a thing, and it's almost certain that's how he prevented the evolution. I'd be curious to know why he'd do that though...there's a few times I see La Borra sealed so people just have Lvl8 Santa Water...am curious about that as well

It's the "Wicked Season" arcana (unless you mean something else)

Dex, by far the best arcana to start with Scorej-Oni is the one that makes the rings do explosions (Try it in bat country, is absolutly overpowered since the start). Why you never take it at the start?

I'm starting to feel like Scorej-Oni is actually a Thundurus reference, because a certain beat in this ost that played when you first played as Scorej-Oni (I'm assuming, it's his theme or was added at the same time) is pretty similar to one in a Pokémon Legendary theme.

I mostly just wanted to comment on how certain high notes of the theme sounds similar to the Legendary theme from PLA (Pokémon Legends: Arceus). I highly doubt that it's the case but a fan can nerd out xD

Talking about hard modes, I recently managed to finally beat Boss Rush with Peppino, no eggs, no hyper, no inverse, with Arcanas: Blood Astronomia, Silent Old Sanctuary, and Mad Groove (in that order), but I would like to do it on inverse mode and I don't see how, it seems impossible to me.

Oh wow, what a shock Dex used Boogaloo of Illusions I can't believe it... Half the time more area, half the time less area. Please someone who can do the actual math tell me how that's better than just relying on the area you gain from Limit Break? I would think it's a break even at best if not a direct nerf if it effects Limit Break Stats as well... (Not that I don't think you can do the math Dex, I'm pretty sure you can but I just don't think you have because you maybe think it's pointless to do so because in your mind it's obvious how overpowered BoI is but is it really?) The bad thing is I also don't know what you'd want to replace BoI with to make Lightning Ring more powerful but on the other hand I also still see BoI as a nerf overall, so maybe any other Arcana even just Gemini would be better... Fun video as always Dex as I enjoy your commentary while you play but your obsession with BoI is getting old...

The size changing over 10 seconds is essentially a zero state, you are still however gaining an additional 1% area growth per level meaning that regardless of where it is in its oscillation you are gaining more consistent area coverage every single level.

And not to forget, the % area from Boogaloo is multiplicative on top of the area % of the weapon. So if you have 300% on the weapon and 100% from Boogaloo, that's 600% Area increase instead of 400%. And since I usually get a couple hundred levels, let's say 400 with it, and the weapon reaches roughly 600% Area (700% total), I have roughly 600x500%-500=2500% Area bonus I wouldn't have otherwise.

I don't really know much about the game so why doesn't his ring evolve???
