But on another note, saying that bit is like diametrically opposite the standard ESPN talking head line: “now, lets be (un)clear, Im not saying coach X should out of a job, but…” or “We dont celebrate or applaud someone’s unemployment on This show. Playing Josh Giddey as a floor spacing wing rather than at point guard should be a fireable offense. The guy has proven again and again that he is a very good NBA player when he's got the ball in his hands. His first ever knockout game was a 30 point near triple double. Shai is not a point guard. He is proving it, he's score first and would rather shoot over 3 people than hit the open guy. He's great at it, but do that after the play breaks down. Jalen Williams is terrible at running an offense. He can look really good when he's able to get downhill into an open paint, but as soon as he's guarded well he is not an effective ball handler. And this clown coach's solution is to cut Giddey's minutes and let Shai chuck and JDub try and fail to get good shots. And then Giddey runs the ball up the floor a few times only to hand off to shai immediately and stand in the corner. It's as stupid as if they ran Dort as a point guard or played Chet as an old school post up power forward defending wings in the corner

he's just getting doubled and they help defense hard. so he makes the right play. pass out of the double or pass to the open guy. if they pass okc I think he'll be back to his former self vs nugget (if nuggets win) they don't have the personal to guard the perimeter or the rim protector that okc has. he could take tough shots and probably make them but when there's an open guy it's the better play.
