Throwline and Friction Saver Installation with Hillock Tree Care
In this video we will show how to use a throwball and throw cube to set a tie in/ring and ring friction saver remotely. We will then safely remove the rope and hardware from the tree.

Thanks for the easy to understand tutorial! Excellent work.
Great video!. I prefer running the throwline through the big ring of the friction saver, then pulling enough line through for the toss, toss over a limb with the throw ball, then connect to the opposite side of the friction saver using the throw ball, pull up and install. Finished. That way I'm only pulling a fraction of my throw line through than what you showed, where you had to pull throw the entire line. Try it out sometime. It's much easier. Anyways, great presentation. I'm going to check out your channel.

I have tried this technique. When it works it’s very efficient for shorter throws. Thanks for sharing!
haha I'm giggling with excitement! I could be doing trees for a millions years and never have discovered this thank u so much I will def give this a try!
Excellent instructions very clear and informative
Great presentation, nice camera work. Thanks for taking the time.
awesome video!
Very clear info. Thanks.
Excellent presentation. Thanks for taking the time to demonstrate this skill.
bravo..very thorough
Nice edit on that toss. In days of old, the “throw line” used to be called a throw ball. We had this softball chunk of rubber with a weight inside. I like the bags better. Arborist Blair Glenn

Yes, very well explain! You consider all the steps so important when you’ve been place in the situation of a throw line mixe up for all the reason possible, and you know there’s many. Having when possible a tarp under the throw bag can be an issue ! Again vidéo pretty well done!
Great video. Thanks
Nice Jacket!
Very well done and thank you!
Nice tutorial
Is there a device that’s made out of tubular metal and it’s attached to a reservoir of either foot pumped or a bit like a bicycle hand pumped, you then drop whichever size of weight you want down the tube and with a release valve/trigger shoot the line/weight as high as you pretty well need. Excellent explanation, not least of all for safety reasons and being tidy!
How did I miss this gem?........ I now have a tool to teach linguistics and treecare terminology!! 🙂

👍👍👍
Thank you so very much
Half of a 2 piece fishing rod with a 1 Oz sinker works pretty good. 3 steps instead of 2 but you can put it over a limb WAY up in a tree.

The ONLY sure way.If throw line get fouled up in branches and leaves, how now brown cow? Fishing rods, best way.
Thanks
some guys run the throw bag through the ring before throwing the bag up
Wouldn’t a string tied to a stone suffice ? I use a bow and an arrow. Works well for me... No balls hitting the ground. :-)
Yes Sir. Organization is key.
Terrible camera work. All these comments must be from shills. None of his knots were visibly tied. 👎

If you don't already know how to tie those knots you shouldn't be attempting anything based only on this video - it assumes a basic working knowledge.

Sorry that it’s not up to your standard! We try our best make it clear for everyone. I have slower videos of knots if you need help with those. :)
