Hi guys! Yes I know I say "top spin" in this video lol! It is lost in translation. In Korean we use the term "top spin" in golf to indicate "less back spin" on the ball. It didn't even occur to me until you guys brought it my attention! And YES the ball will not get airborne if I actually put top spin on it lol but most of you smart golfers already knew what I really meant by "top spin." I do explain briefly about this in Q&A lesson kzread.info/dash/bejne/paSck8eYnsTdlMo.html Thank you guys for your support! You guys are the best xoxo!

Yes, topspin is good in tennis, maybe not so good on your drives
Aimee, you are the only golf instructor that actually details it in a sensible manor of understanding. The rest i have seen are just tries to show you how to do it and the in betweens that leaves you with mysteries(sorta like trying to figure out the riddle talking). I have learned more with your videos than my lessons with all the other pros. you just make more sense, wish i had you as my beginning golf instructor. instead of learning all the bad habits as i went through to get here. it's been 20 years and i still suck, i am now a 16 handicapper and lost a whole bunch of betting money. but now you have opened my eyes and ears, i hope to get all my money back. Thank you sooo much for your absolute best instructions.
I had seen videos of professionals who hit long drives. It was pointed out their head is always behind the ball. Then I have also heard that the swing should be the same for the irons and the driver. Amy has cleared up what needs to be done. For the driver the head should be behind. It is basically the same swing as the irons but the timing of the weight shift is a little different. Its amazing that I have not seen a video with such clarity ever before. Amy is really good!
So many guys could learn so much more from watching ladies play - I always hit it better after watching these as I focus more on tempo instead of force - great great instruction - thankyou
Some of the best golf videos on KZread.
Nice, you have way more insight in what amateurs do than most instructors. Most instructors don't care what amateurs are doing, they think that by just presenting the right way is enough. That is not always the case. Sometimes you first need an understanding of what amateurs are doing before you can effectively change that.
Best pro KZread teacher I've found! Thank you!

gold ...
Came across this by accident, it is probably the best explained golf lesson ever. I actually understood it word for word and will watch this again and again for sure. Thank you Aimee.
I've watched many videos but aimee's easy to understand tutorials are hands down the best.
I really like and appreciate Aimee’s golf’s lesson. Her explanation, showing, kind attention, body language.. are just great. Thanks so much! Aimee.
Aimee, you are a blessing for us, the amateurs golfers seeking help here on youtube. Your instructions are so amazingly crystal-clear. The erratic behaviors you explain are so on-point exactly to how most of us would do . In my case, I was hitting so long and well w/ my driver in my first year of golfing, until I started to work on my iron games ( did the weight- shift to left leg for iron swings) . Ever since I ought to apply the sameweight-shift to my driver swing ( as most people told me all swings are the same) . Ever since then ... my driver swing blew up from 1 self-fix to another , and driver distance got shortened . I had no idea why ... until see your video today. Thank you so so much. Keep up the fantastic work Aimee. We love you !
She gives very simple and succinct lessons. I'm hooked.
Best drive lesson so far I've seen on KZread. This video is gold.
Beginner golfer that watched hours of video on KZread. Your videos for beginners are not spent saying unnecessary things to make sure the video is long enough to matter. You breakdown the sequence nicely, easy to understand, and I like the explanation one must feel as they swing the driver. I feel much better now about the driver and can’t wait for the range. I’ll be studying all your videos and checking out your website. Way to go, you have my vote for best golf instructor.
after incorporating this lesson to my drive swing thoughts, I hit 15 of 18 fairways. first time ever. I’ll watch this before I play going forward. Great job Aimee!
I have been playing for 65 years and no one has have differentiated so clearly the difference between a driver swing and an iron swing. Cant wait to try it including the swoosh thought. Thankyou.
Can’t believe this video was 5 years ago and only now I’m learning to keep my body from moving forward and the club swoosh bf transferring weight forward. I’ve been doing that mistake you’re showing along with loose grip instead of loose wrists and arms. Thanks Aimee
Your instructions are very easy to follow....Great teacher..I drive it farther now because of you
Aimee does a lovely job of giving you a clear, simple, measurable swing thought to take to the range. I never feel overwhelmed with things to remember after watching a video.
Aimee is the best instructor. My local pro just shows me and then does nothing else to help. Thanks Aimee!
That really makes sense, especially right at the start, showing the difference between down and up impact and weight distribution. I play off of 12 and am prone to turning my body too much with the driver, she explained it really well
Great tips Aimee. I've struggled with my driving for a while.
This is THE best video on KZread on driver swing. Thank you Aimee! You're a great teacher.
I was a 12 handicap 2 months ago. I've been playing golf for 30 years. I found Aimee and am now a 6 handicap. Game is a lot more fun. Short game is the big difference. That video was a game changer for me. Thanks Aimee
Love her lessons. Even as a mid single digit player, I find myself watching her lessons as a refresher course. She doesn’t get to technical and makes it simple.
aimee is a great teacher
Finally a tip that has helped me, the sit down I have done on accident but now I understand.
Aimee, you just keep on keeping it simple. Being 79 years old and out of the game for almost 5 years, I had totally lost my swing. I used to swing the club really well, but my back just hurt most of the time (ALA Fred Couples) Chunks, tops, and a lot of obnoxious names for the golf ball....I discovered your videos. Like someone flipped a switch in my thick head. All the good memories of watching my tee shots flying straight down the fairway (though not as far) are becoming a reality again. Thank you for returning me to the game I used to love.
Great explanation. You have fixed a 20yr problem in 30min. I’ve been telling my friends about your videos. Ty,Ty,Ty
This is good, i was just at a golf shop and was testing the f9 driver . I am new as can be to golf and really cant hit driver at all but the guy there was so painfully annoying about trying to help , he goes im a pga professional watch me lol so i watch him take a swing and not sure how that was supposed to help, i did not pay for or ask for a lesson but if you are going to help try giving instruction instead of ripping the driver 290 yards and going see! Thays all you gotta do lol , thats called being a jerk not teaching and i have to admit it was actually kind of discouraging, I appreciate all of the youtube instructors for taking the time to explain it in detail like this video so thank you and in case anyone was wondering i did nit buy the f9 lol i will stick with my used ping g15 until i get better , besides that i like my driver quite alot even compared to the new stuff.the best part about my driver is it cost me 29 dollars out the door with a new grip !. And it goes as straight and as far for me as any other driver ive hit , when i actually hit it hahahha golf is so much fun.
Excellent! This addresses what I think I have been doing. I've been working hard to improve my weakness which was short to mid irons from sweep to a much more consistant descending blow with nice pro-like divots. I'm much more confident with approach shots now but inexplicably lost my driver swing (the strength of my game before) which has gone way way south. So frustrating. Thank you Aimee. I'm going to try this the next time I'm at the range.
Aimee: Wanted to compliment you on one of your videos in Golf Pass dealing withing hitting hybrids better. In it, you talked about using a "1-2-3" soft count when taking your backswing and follow-thru. I tried it and it was worked like a charm. I hit so much purer and harder. In fact, I was overhitting every green and had to club down to compensate for the greater distance. Thank you so much!!!
After keep seeing Aimee’s lessons, my golf swing has improved. Thanks Aimee.
Thank you for making videos Aimee. Showing the swoosh with the driver helped it make sense for me. I'm going to try this asap ⛳
It's so enlightening to see my number one driver flaw (the quick forward lunge) revealed like this. Hopefully with this realization and your teaching I can fix it.
Thanks Aimee. This video may be almost 3 years old but it is one of the better explanations I've found. Relaxing the joints and not transferring weight early. Made a lot of sense.
Explained so nicely and clearly! Makes it so easy to understand! I watch this video every time on the train before I get to the driving range! :)
Hi Aimee Your instruction is the best I have had over hundreds of lessons trying to not Slice the ball😊😊 You are the only person who has concisely encapsulated what is happening in the Driver Swing now in my late sixties I am hitting the driver over 240 meters and now enjoying hitting the Driver Thanks Dave😍

Hi Dave! Wow that sounds amazing 🤩 I’m so glad you were able to find your swing. Thanks for sharing👍❤️
I just discovered Aimee, and she is a great teacher. I love the simple way she explains how the swing feels.
I’ve watched literally hundreds of videos by most of the top instructors on the internet over the past three or four years. This is the first time I’ve really seen and understood the difference in swing for driver and irons. I knew about hitting up but the difference in weight transfer was never really clear. Got a pretty good swing and distance with my irons but often struggle with my driver. I can’t wait to go out and try this because I think it will make a world of difference. Thank you Aimee. 😎☀️💐🏌️♂️⛳️
Great lesson. Thanks for your guidance Aimee.
Thanks for the input. Been having the habit of shifting my weight too soon for years... even if I position ball pass the front foot. Had the best driving round in a while listening to your tutorial. Thanks a bunch
Another great vid. Fresh and new perspective on driver swing. Thanks for the vid!
Golfed today. Before I hit the driver, I pictured your beautiful smooth swing. It worked 95% of the time. The 5% was my fault. Thank you so much.👍
the best explaination for the golf, I love the way you elaborate make it easier for us to understand. Thank you Aimee.
I've watched this video a few times and I think I finally listened..or heard you..or got another nugget out of it. Thanks Aimee! Again!
best pro on KZread IMO, please could u do a lesson on how to stop crossing the line a the top.
The best information o driving swing...I receive....I bee play for more than 45 years....THANKS
These videos are great ! seriously ! I have improved from a 160-180 yard slice/fade driver to a straight, draw biased (200-210) driver shot after watching all of Aimee's drivers lessons. I must have went through about 100 other different driver tips on you tube (in the span of about 3 years trying t figure it out) and none has made me 'click' but this series did. thank you !funny that this is the first time I was told to don't shift the weight, I ran to the range, and try to hit it off my right foot, and suddenly I got it ! I am sure its not 100% correct , but it fixed my problem and it went much further.
love that, hadn't seen the drive/iron swing explained quite like that before. I know I get a little of this going on, you worry about the "reverse pivot" or think weight can't stay back. I also will get my back shoulder heading through a little quick at times - thus some days I carry 250 :-) and other days I carry 200 :-(
Aimee you are terrific. You make learning clear & very understandable!!
Thank you - excellent video, you break down the information well, can't wait for the next vid.
Thank you for free teaching golf lesson ..Pinoy Caddie here✋⛳🏌️♂️🇵🇭
My new favourite coach 👏🏼
thats the best explained golf video that i have ever seen thanks Aimee
It makes sense the way you explain it. Thank you!!
Excellent lesson! Key to hitting the driver long and straight.
This is one of the very best instructional videos on KZread!! Thank you for posting this Aimee!
Every time I watch one of your videos, even an old one, I am impressed on how good a teacher you are. As the hips turn towards the left at the start of the downswing, moving the hands down, a point is reached about when the hips are square to the target line, when the rotation of the hips slows down while downward movement of the hands accelerate as the club head swooshes through the impact area. This pulls the hips leftwards to complete the weight shift and lifts the hands above the left shoulder as the body faces the target. Thank you for your video lessons. I'm sure that many, many people, like me, appreciate your generosity very much.
First time this has ever been explained in this manner, and it does make total sense! Aimee is the best golf instructor on the planet...PERIOD. I wished you offered online lessons so that you could have a look and give feedback! Thank you, for all this wonderful golf instruction content, simply aweome!!
Thanks Aimee, I;m driving the ball shorter and shorter each year, I am excited to take these tips to the range tomorrow and see if it helps... I like the thought of throwing the driver, I just may do it with the worn grips I'm playing with.... thanks again
very good explanation on hitting the driver and good demo. Enjoy your instruction. THank you
Very well explained Aimee! Keep up the great work!
BEST video on youtube on how to hit a driver
She is the best teacher! Thanks a lot.
That was helpful and clear. Thank you.
Thanks Aimee. Great instruction.
Your videos are the best. This video helped me a lot as I have as I like the downward blow and have a habit of shifting the hips. Result high and out to the right with the driver.TY
When I am hitting well this is what I do. But I always thought it was wrong so I kept focusing on hip turn and weight transfer. What an amazing video. My next driver swing thought will be to let the club pass me. Amazing
Solid instruction regarding the fundamentals of the golf swing
Excellent Aimee, you have taught me a lot!
Amazing tips. So many videos out there are fluff and garbage. This is legit and a perfect explanation of the difference between a driver and iron and how to adjust for each. Thank you! Subscribed.
In the 60-s- My dad towed me around working with CBS at tournaments including the Masters. Aimee, has the gift of being the best instructor that I've ever seen in my lifetime.
Thank you so much Aimee!
Just hearing her talk about core power and up blows and down blows. Has me feeling great already. Thank you Aimee.
Love it, thank you Aimee
That's some good action right there. Nice job.
I took your advise and would like to thank you! I'm hitting my ball a mile and dead straight even brought my handy cap down with two shots!! 😻
Aimee, you talked about many important issues on this one lesson that addressed my problems, e.g. relaxing the hands vs. relaxing the arms, different weight shift in irons vs. driver. I struggled with different parts of the game for a long time, but you have really nailed it. Thankyou!
Finally, good sound advice.
an oldie but goodie! (From 2016!) It showed up in my youTube feed so I know it's good. I will definitely do that drill with the driver -- I mainly practice with irons when I go to the range and I can see that I do need separate practice with the driver
This is more clear what is different between driver and iron, which help me do both iron and driver work at same around, great job Aimee!
Thanks Aimee, I have been watching lots of your videos and they are very informative. I have been playing for years but had to take some time off due to shoulder surgery. Now my driver does not work. You have given me several things to look at to determine what I am doing wrong. Thank you very much.
Cannot agree more; a great lesson...! Actually i try to do the same for all my 14 clubs, including the putter. Many thanks Aimee!

Thomas Cho gonna try this with my irons coz they always slices bad. My putt is good though.
Sweet lesson miss. Aimee thank you
Simple and clear. Really enjoy her style of communication.
Best driver tuition I’ve ever seen 👍👏👏👏
Well presented instruction and I'm looking forward to swooshing at the range tomorrow! One minor comment if I may - the only way to put topspin on a golf ball is to actually top it. Every well executed shot will impart backspin, including the driver. Of course this takes nothing away from your excellent video. Cheers and thank you from Sydney, Aust - Dave
top class thanks it works tried it
Great tip Aimee! I do this so now I understand. Thank you!
Love this thought with the driver. Can’t wait to try it
Great lesson, exactly the mistake I was making moving weight forward like I do with irons.
Fantastic video... thank you for simplifying instruction.
Excellent lesson Aimee! Thank you.
First video with Aimee. I practiced this on the range after watching. Very helpful and I believe it helps with tempo as well. Thank you for posting.
Have only watched your video in the last 5 days. Your delivery of 'the knowledge' is awesome. My drives are already much straighter, consistent and longer. Many thanks. Hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. PS would make my new year if you did a course vlog.
Hi Aimee excellent video! When I first started having golf lessons 30 years ago I was taught on the driver downswing “stay behind the ball and swing the club”. Somehow I’d forgotten that advices and was getting ahead of the ball. Your video reminded me and what difference ! I’ve added 30 yards to my driver (ok it’s still only carrying 200 yards but hey I’m in my 60’s now ! )👴🏼
Aimee you are an excellent teacher. You explain the reason why and explain how to accomplish the technique. Thank you sharing this with us.
Brilliant lesson thank u Aimee🙂
Amazing tips Aimee
